Find and print of a poem they authored that is interesting to you.

Be prepared to present and share your learning to the class.

3) Read “I know Why the Caged Bird Sings” -- complete a blue sheet analysis

4) Research poetry from another nation outside of North America and bring to class one.

Agenda: Worship Presentations Review for Test Wrap-up – Test is May 18; Your Original Poem is due May 17

Poetry Unit Test -- Review Define and make an example for figurative language terms used during

this class

Know the different types of poetry

Match the poet with his/her poem from the handouts given in class

Remember the major poems we discussed in class – sonnet, parody, dramatic monologue, CDN poems, This week we will also look at Maya Angelou and theme poems

The final section – you will be given a poem and asked various question regarding it.
