“WILL” • The FUTURE tense is used to tell us what WILL happen in the

future. • To form the FUTURE TENSE, you add the following endings to

“GOING TO” • There are two ways we can talk about what will happen in the future

in both Spanish and English. We just went over the “WILL” version of the FUTURE tense.

• To create the “I AM GOING TO” future tense, follow the following model:

IR in the present tense + the word a + verb in the INFINITIVE

• 1. Yo voy a jugar en el parque. →I am going to play in the park.

• 2. Nosotros vamos a ir a un restaurante. → We are going to go to a restaurant.

• 3. Ellos van a comprar unos zapatos nuevos →They are going to buy some new shoes.

• 4. ¿Cuándo vas a ir? → When are you going to go?
