"EL AMIR" FLAMENCO SEXTET Amir John Haddad is a well known flamenco guitarist within the flamenco world. He comes from a German, Palestinian and Colombian background and was taught by his father and began to play flamenco guitar and Arabic oud when he was seven years old. Amir's playing is recognized for its great personality, maturity, sound and individual style. Besides accompanying many of Spain's greatest flamenco figures he has been the official oud and string player with the legendary World Music band Radio Tarifa touring worldwide for ten years. His band "El Amir" Flamenco Sextet offers us a powerful and pure flamenco concert based on its traditional elements such as vocals, dance and guitar adding different sounding instruments like violin, mandolin, bass, percussion, Arabic oud or bouzouki to create a fresh musical fusion that allows us to understand his personal view of flamenco. "El Amir" had the opportunity to perform with his flamenco band at the "9th Veria Guitar Festival" in Greece (2010), the 30th Edition of the "Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba" (2010), "The Moods" in Zürich- Switzerland (2010) and the "Festival Les Guitares" in Lyon-France (2011), to name a few.     After touring worldwide during many years with bands like Radio Tarifa, Chambao, Zoobazar etc and

    a large number of renowned flamenco artists Amir John Haddad “El Amir” now presents us his

    flamenco guitar solo concert “Solo Flamenco”.

    While exposing many of the most characteristic flamenco styles like Rondeña, Taranta, Minera, Soleá,

    Bulerias etc he delights us with his sensitivity, maturity, creativity and masterful musicianship. This is

    the best opportunity to enjoy and listen to the flamenco guitar in its purest facette. “El Amir” will be

    interpreting own compositions where we can appreciate his technical clarity, rhythm domain and sense

    for flamenco. The concert is based on a selection of tunes from both of his albums “Pasando por

    Tabernas” and “9 Guitarras” which is coming out in February 2013.

    “El Amir” travels with his music through large parts of Andalusian geography and culture and knows

    how to maintain a personal touch making us understand his inner vision of nowadays flamenco

    guitar.

    “Solo Flamenco” satisfies all expectations of the audience and enchants at the same time all

    Amir is a colombian-palestinian musician born in Germany. His musical taste and virtuous and open minded

    approach to the instruments he plays make it a pleasure to listen to his music. In "El Amir" Flamenco Sextet he plays flamenco guitar, bouzouki or oud. Besides he plays Turkish saz, banjo, electric guitar and triple neck guitar, mandola, bass, etc… all in all string instruments.

    Amir’s father Rimon Haddad taught him how to play the oud

    at an early age of seven and at the same time Amir started to learn flamenco guitar. Later on he studied with famous flamenco guitar maestros like Pepe Justicia in Jerez and Enrique de Melchor in Córdoba. El Amir has been member of the famous World-music band Radio Tarifa with whom he has toured the world during ten

    years.     EVA DURÁN

    This amazing flamenco singer was born in Estepona (Málaga) and has been surrounded by flamenco since childhood. She has studied harmony, classic Spanish dance and flamenco dance. She has performed with most prestigious flamenco artists like Joaquín Cortés, Javier Barón, Rafael Amargo, José Antonio Galicia, Joaquín Grilo and Javier Barón with Sara Baras touring the world

    through many countries. She has been guest artist with Manolo Sanlucar, Vicente Amigo, Nono García and Gerardo Núñez. Her beautiful and powerful

    voice and her broad experience makes her one of the most wanted singers for many different projects like the opera "Amore" of Spanish composer Mauricio Sotelo where she sang together with Marina Heredia. She also recorded on the legendary album of "Amalgama" one of the best fusion projects ever between flamenco and Indian Katak music. You can find her also on "La chanson flamenca”.     Argentinean Tango.     JONATAN MIRÓ Jonatan Miró was born in Barcelona. There he started his dance career at a very young age by the hand of Jose de la Vega and La Tani. After graduating at the Institute of Theater he obtains the title for Spanish Dance and Flamenco. Further he studied at the Royal Professional Conservatory of Dance in Madrid and in workshops of the Andalusian Dance Company under the direction of the great Jose Antonio. Some

    of the most renowned flamenco dancers of Spain have been Jonatan’s mayor influence during his studies and his professional career: Eva Yerbabuena, Javier Latorre, Merche Esmeralda, Jose Antonio, Manolo Marin, El Toleo, La Chana, Antonio Canales, Alejandro Granados…

    In 1999 he has his debut with the Antonio Canales Dance Company presenting the show “Tiempo 2000” and a short while later he is called to join the legendary Ballet Nacional de España touring worldwide and dancing in the most privileged

    theaters of the world for five years.

    In 2007 he is given the first prize for best and outstanding male dancer at the XVI. Certamen de Coreografía y Danza Española y Flamenco in Madrid.     INMACULADA ORTEGA

    From Jerez de la Frontera began her dance studies at the age of seven with her brother Domingo Ortega, forming their

    artistic partnership. In 1988 they were presented in Jerez de la Frontera in the competition of flamenco dance of the county of Cádiz, where they won the 1st and 2nd prize respectively.

    At present she performs as guest artist in the concerts offered by the singers José Menese and Chano Lobato, and also collaborates with very well-known musicians such as Enrique de Melchor or Victor Monge “Serranito”.

    Inmaculada directs her own company “Aroma Flamenco” along with Antonio Hidalgo. At the same time she teaches at the flamenco school “Amor de Dios”. Since Inmaculada came to Madrid in 1990, she has joined the companies of Carmen Cortés, having the opportunity to share the stage with Antonio Canales and Gerardo Núñez. Albarizuela Ballet as a featured artist. Antonio Alonso´s company as a soloist alongside Belén Maya. Miguel Ángel Espino´s Company, Compañía Flamenca Alhama, María Benítez Teatro Flamenco and the Companies of Tomás de Madrid, Domingo Ortega, Ángel Muñoz and Joaquín Ruiz. Inmaculada Ortega has performed in the prestigious tablaos of

    Madrid such as Café de Chinitas, Corral de la Morería,

    Alcazaba, Las Carboneras, Corral de la Pacheca, Casa Patas, Caracol and others.

    Among all Inmaculada´s performances, stand out places such as: Flamenco Festival of Jerez 2007 and

    2008, International Flamenco Festival of Albuquerque 2008, Womad Festival in the Canary Islands,

    the Philharmonic of Munich, the tenth Anniversary of the international day of the Dance, celebrated in

    the “Teatro Albéniz” of Madrid, the Exposición Universal of Sevilla, the following Universal Exhibition in

    RAÚL MÁRQUEZ

    He is one of the most innovative young violinists in Spain right now.

    He was born in Zaragoza in 1977 and studied piano, harmony, chant and violin since an erly age of eight years at the “Escolanía de Infantes del Pilar” and the “Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Zaragoza”.

    Very soon Raúl Marquez developed an interest for other music styles apart from classical music and dives into the world of sounds and shapes playing in different local bands before moving to Madrid. After touring for a while through Spain he starts playing with different productions like Chicago

    the musical by Bob Fosse and bands like La Cabra Mecánica, Meerle Feeney Band, etc...

    Soon he started playing for famous flamenco dancer Sara Baras touring the world with shows named “Sueños”, “Juana La Loca” y “Mariana Pineda”. He has worked and toured with well known artist like: Diego “El Cigala”, Rafael Amargo, Joaquín Cortés, Antonio Canales, Jorge Pardo, Concha Jareño, Lole Montoya, Jesús de Rosario, Gerardo Núñez, Carmen Cortés, Joaquín Ruiz, “Los Losada”, Joselillo Romero, Inmaculada y Domingo Ortega, Antonio y Manuel Reyes, Compañía de Rafael Aguilar, Suite Española, Alfonso Losa, Guadiana, El Niño Joséle, La Aurora, José Luís Montón, José Porcell, Talegón de Córdoba... and played in important venues like City Center (Nueva York),

    Bellas Artes (D.F. México), Shinjuku-Bunka Center (Tokio), Palacio de Congresos del Kremlin (Moscú), Théâtre des Champs Elysées (París), Teatro Real (Madrid)... Since then he had the opportunity to play with: Revolver, Black Market, Baxtaló Drom, Sasha Sokol, con la compañía Yllana in the show "Pagagnini", Pepe Torres, Moisés Sánchez, Roxana Río, Kamala, Almagato, Yutaro Nagao, La Banda de Joseíto Fernández...

    Raul has his own projects called Ole Swing (gipsy jazz), El Pañuelo (preludio-flamenco) y Flamencos y Otras Aves (cabaret-flamenco).

    ENRIQUE TERRÓN DUQUE Was born in Madrid in 1984. He started to play percussion as a teenager and his interest in music has helped him to develop an amazing career. In 2004 he tours the USA and México Antonio Najarro’s dance company sharing the stage with the Ensamble Nuevo Tango. A year later he is invited to become a member of María Pagés Dance Company performing the show "Volver a Sevilla", presented at the Bunkamura Theater in Japan. After this production he becomes the percussionist of famous guitarist Juan Manuel Cañizares (ex Paco de Lucia Sextet) touring with the show "Mano a Mano" in Israel; with José Menese y Enrique de Melchor in Jordan. Juan Moneo "El Torta", Carmen Linares o José Manuel León and many others.

    He has played with younger generation dancers like David Romero

    Dance Company or Marcos Flores, Olga Pericet & Daniel Doña dance company peforming Chanta la Mui Complot, as well as with solo artists like Concha Jareño, Belén López, Pedro Córdoba, Guadalupe Torres etc.
