Powai is a suburban neighbourhood located in the north-east of Mumbai, and
is situated on the banks of the beautiful Powai Lake. In the last few years,
Powai has changed from a scenic lakeside picnic spot; to one of the fastest

Eastern Express Highway Monorail Metro Rail
The Mumbai Development Plan of 1991 was instrumental in bringing about key
infrastructure projects for decongesting the city center. Consequently, the city’s
eastern suburbs such as Powai, benefited immensely from these policy measures.
Due to the reduced commuting time to South Mumbai, demand for commercial
and residential properties along with increase in housing prices in locations such
as Powai has increased by approximately 28–30 per cent over the last two years.
The SEEPZ SEZ in Andheri is just about 5 km away from Powai while the Bandra
Kurla Complex (BKC) is about 16.5 km away.
The Eastern Express Highway, a key infrastructural project has also led the
development trail along with Vikhroli–Jogeshwari Link Road, real estate activity
(especially in the commercial segment) has accelerated in Powai, Vikhroli and
Kanjurmarg.
Mass rapid transportation projects such as the Mumbai Monorail and the Mumbai
Metro Rail has further enhanced the city’s east–west connectivity, and improved

Powai connects conveniently to Kanjurmarg and Vikhroli railway stations that are just
situated at a distance of 3.5 kms and 5 kms respectively from it. The nearest metro
stations are Marol, Saki Naka and Asalpha.
The Mumbai International Airport is just about 5 kms away.
