Bigyan Memorial Research Award CALL FOR APPLICATION

Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) calls for application from interested candidates for the Bigyan Memorial Research Award 2019, which is given every year to a Masters student with an excellent and innovative research proposal.

On 23rd September 2006, the world lost 24 dedicated people working in conservation and environment in the tragic helicopter crash at Ghunsa. Late Bigyan Acharya, an environmentalist and a member of Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) was one of them. In honor of Late Acharya, ENPHO has established a “Bigyan Memorial Research Award” to enable individuals, particularly youths, to conduct research work in the field of environment and science.

This Memorial Award is being granted every year during annual general meeting of ENPHO. In this regard, a research proposal is requested from interested students/researchers for conducting research work in one of the following fields of study:

Wastewater Management Faecal Sludge Management Rainwater Harvesting and Groundwater Recharge

Required Documents: Proposal maximum 10 pages Updated CV An official “Letter of Recommendation” from applicants’ supervisor or mentor An official “Letter of Approval” from department/college head

Eligibility Criteria: All students who have passed Masters First Year and currently joined Masters Second Year program

and supposed to start their thesis Age less than 30 years

Memorial award of amount: NRs. 25,000/- (NRs. Twenty-Five Thousand Rupees Only)

Deadline for submission of proposal: 31 July 2019 Duration of Research Grant: 6 months

The award will be officially presented during the Annual General Meeting 2019 of ENPHO.

Hutaram Environment Award

Call for Application/Nomination

Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) calls for application or nomination from interested candidates for the Hutaram Environment Award, which is given to an individual or organization which has made exceptional contribution to the environment.

Hutaram Baidya was Nepal’s first agriculture engineer, an environmentalist and an activist who was passionate about Bagmati River and its civilization. He worked tirelessly to raise his voice for the conservation of Bagmati. “Hutaram Baa”, as he was affectionately called, was also an honourary Member of ENPHO and in honour of his memory, ENPHO has established the Hutaram Environment Award to recognize the tireless efforts and extraordinary achievements of an individual or organization in the field of environment conservation.

Individuals or organizations may nominate any potential candidate for the award along with the following documents:

Nomination letter highlighting past experiences and remarkable contributions on environment sector (Max. 10 pages)

Organizational Profile (If you are approaching through organization)

Raju Memorial Youth Award

Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) calls for application or nomination from the interested candidates for the Raju Memorial Youth Award 2019.

On 21 April 2011, Environment and Public Health Organization lost a member, colleague and a youth committed to bring access to safe drinking water and sanitation amongst the people in rural areas of Nepal. In memory of late Raju Shrestha, ENPHO has established “Raju Memorial Youth Award” to be awarded to an individual or organization doing remarkable work in environment sector in Nepal. In this regard, young individuals or youth groups working in environment sector in various areas of Nepal are requested to send their application along with detailed documents reflecting experiences in the following address. Individuals or organizations may also nominate any potential candidate for the award along with the following documents:
