EIGHTH GRADE PROMOTION

MEETING

November 20, 2014 PHHS Tour and Promotion Meeting

PEC will provide transportation for a tour of our new High

School Campus, PHHS. Paradise Education Center is the feeder

school for Paradise Honors High School. Parents of students

that plan to attend a different high school must contact their

school of interest directly as PEC is not affiliated with other high

schools. By contacting your school of interest, you will be better

directed with information regarding enrollment requirements and

freshman placement procedures. A parent meeting will be held at

6PM in the MPR to review important dates and provide parent

information about PHHS.

PROMOTION EVENTS

February 27, 2015 Chaperone Selection (All

chaperones must be fingerprinted cleared and pay)

March 2, 2015 Collage Pictures Due (one newborn-2

years of age) –Turn into Homeroom Teacher

April 15, 2015 Eighth Grade Promotion Pictures (Cap

and Gown pictures taken at PEC)

May 15, 2015 Eighth Grade Promotion Trip

PROMOTION EVENTS

May 21, 2015 Eighth Grade Promotion Dance & Dinner, 5:00-

7:30 PM. Students will enjoy time with their peers to dance and

dine this evening in the PEC MPR

May 27, 2015 Eighth Grade Breakfast and Year Book Signing

Party (during school day) 8:10-10:20

Students will be treated to a complimentary breakfast and be

given an opportunity to sign year books, take photographs, and

capture memories to last a life time.

May 28, 2015 Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony

9:30-11:30 at Radiant Church

Family and Friends are invited to join our 2015 Eighth

Grade class in celebrating their promotion from grade

school to high school.

Please Note: Tickets will be provided to students per family. Ticket survey

coming home soon.

FUNDRAISING: SILHOUETTES

FUNDRAISING: RECYCLE DRIVE

All chaperones have been fingerprinted and approved through PEC’s volunteer process.

Chaperones will have cell phone numbers one staff member from their bus.

All chaperones are REQUIRED to ride to the bus to and from and sit with their group on the bus.

Chaperones will assist groups at meal time to be sure everyone receives their meal.

Chaperones will encourage and monitor that students drink enough fluids throughout the day.

Chaperones are responsible staying with their group at all times. This includes riding rides. (Idea- Double Up with another chaperone so if a few students do not want to ride students are always supervised)

CHAPERONE EXPECTATIONS

If your student needs to take medication of any kind while on the trip, YOU MUST contact Lisa Livingston (school nurse).

School policy is that students are NOT ALLOWED to have any type of medication in their possession while at school or attending school-sponsored activities. (See page 26 of student Handbook)

MEDICATIONS

Does my child have to be at school the day of any Promotion Event?

Yes. To participate in any evening events, students must be at school for full school day. If doctors appointments or unavoidable circumstances occur, please contact Mrs. Duzy.

What time does my child need to be at school the

day of the ceremony?

Students will arrive to PEC campus at 9:10 on , May 28th. They will enter front office and walk back to their homeroom classroom. Family & Friends will head to Radiant. Staff will walk students over before ceremony begins.

What if I do not have dress shoes for my child?

Please contact Mrs. Duzy. Over the years, I have an expansive collection of men’s dress shoes that I can loan to students.

Please remind your child that the Promotion Trip and all

the other opportunities are exciting privileges, and only

students meeting PEC’s Middle School behavior

expectations and academic expectations will be able to

participate in these privileges. We are honored that you

have selected Paradise Education Center for your child’s

exciting and memorable events coming in the months

ahead.
