EDISON HS MARCHING EAGLES FACT SHEET
Ø The Edison Band Parent Organization (EBPO) § Provides support for a strong music education program at Edison High School that
encourages student participation in band activities. The parents of students enrolled in band are automatically members. There is no membership fee.
§ Meets monthly in the band room plus an initial meeting during band camp. § Is comprised of the following committees:
v Chaperone/Volunteer—at home and away football games, and competitions v Communications—maintains the website and e-mail lists, and promotes the
band v First Aid—maintains the supplies in the first aid box v Fundraising—oversees the activities of the committee and organizes Spirit
Nights, car washes, and other fundraisers v Hospitality—prepares and communicates menus to feed marching band prior
to band competitions; uses Sign-up Genius to find volunteers to serve food v Pit Crew—transports pit equipment to competitions and helps move
equipment on and off the field for home games and competitions v Spirit Wear—develops and sells band spirit wear v Uniforms—distributes and cares for marching band and symphonic band
uniforms v Freshman Parent Rep– communicates with middle schools and helps with 8th
grade night
Ø News § Website (www.EdisonBand.org) is source for news, schedule, EBPO and contact
information § E-mail list for current students and families to receive announcements and updates
from band director and the EBPO regarding band activities. Sign up at www.EdisonBand.org.
Ø Color Guard § Performs as a part of Marching Band during competition season § Routine is choreographed to fit into the music of the marching program § Accepts additional members for winter Indoor Guard season, December through
early April Ø Fundraising
§ Tag Day (September) § Fruit and cheesecake sale (October/November) § Car washes (Fall and Spring) § Spirit nights at local restaurants (monthly)
Ø Band Camp—2 weeks in August
§ Learn marching program performance routine and score § Team building and social activities for band members
Ø Practices
§ Marching band practices Tuesday through Thursday during the season either after school or evening
Ø Game Night Performances
§ Home football games (half-time performances and eighth grade night) § Away games (optional Pep Band)—bus provided to travel to away football games
Ø Competitions—Four competitions scheduled from September to early November
Ø Banquet in November
Ø Spring Trip
