Egerton Park honours the memory of the distinguished sculptor Charles Egerton Browne (1910-96),who lived for many years at Haydon Dell, on the site of the present development. Browne was especiallynoted for his animal sculptures in bronze and was an Associate Member of the Royal Society of British
