• CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT IS NOT ABOUT ESTABLISHING AUTHORITY
• HOWEVER, CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT IS CREATING AN EFFECTIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR LEARNING

• MOTIVATION IS THE KEY TO LEARNING• AN EFFECTIVE FACILITATOR VALUES WHAT HE/SHE DOES• THEY ARE SELF MOTIVATED BY A PERSONAL COMMITMENT TO DO WELL• HIGHLY MOTIVATED FACILITATORS HOLD HIGHER INTEREST AND
CONFIDENCE WHICH RESULTS IN ENHANCED PERFORMANCE AND CREATIVITY (RYAN, DECI, 2000)

• THE ONLINE FACILITATOR MAY NEED TRAINING ON HOW TO:• CREATE A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT• MOVE THE LEARNER TO THE NEXT LEVEL• INCREASE STUDENT PARTICIPATION
DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING CONTINUED
• PHASE OF APPRENTICE• AN EFFECTIVE FACILITATOR MUST MASTER THIS PHASE. THIS IS THE
LEARNING PROCESS OF BECOMING AN EFFECTIVE AND SUCCESSFUL FACILITATOR. THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS STAGE, THE FACILITATOR CAN GAIN THE MOTIVATION AND CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SKILLS NEEDED TO THRIVE.
• HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A CURE ALL. PROBLEMS WITH MOTIVATION AND CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT MAY STILL OCCUR. THIS IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO GAIN AS MUCH INFORMATION DURING THE PHASE OF APPRENTICE AS POSSIBLE.
