暗黑宇宙

宇宙的奇妙遠超我們的想像。

恆星、行星、以至是我們身體都由原

子組成，但它們構成宇宙整體不足百

分之五。另外的百分之二十五是不可

見而又神秘的暗物質。它提供了令星

系集結所需要的引力。餘下的百分之

七十稱為暗能量，它令宇宙加速膨脹，

並限制了人類可以觀測到的宇宙大

小。有些天文學家推測，倘若把可觀

測宇宙比作天象廳球幕般大小，整個

宇宙則可能會比地球更大，甚至有人

認為它可能是無限大的。

天象節目《暗黑宇宙》在引領觀眾離

開銀河系之餘，又可隨着降落傘闖進

木星大氣層，搜索宇宙在遠古時期的

歷史證據，甚至帶他們直抵大爆炸後

的早期宇宙。節目更會介紹天文學上

的突破，讓我們能更詳細準確地了解

宇宙的形成和演變。一場穿越已知世

界通往未知的宇宙之旅，在《暗黑宇

宙》中盛大展開。

Dark Universe

The Universe is a curious place - more so than we ever imagined.

Atoms, which make up the stars, planets and even our bodies, amount to less than 5 percent of the content of the Universe. Another 25 percent is made of a mysterious, invisible dark matter. It supplies the gravitational force needed to hold galaxies together. The remaining 70 percent, known as dark energy, accounts for the accelerated expansion of the Universe and sets a limit on the size of the Universe that humans can observe. Some astronomers speculate that if the observable Universe were the size of a planetarium dome, the entire Universe would be larger than the planet Earth - others even suggest that it may be infinitely large.

The Sky Show “Dark Universe” whisks audiences out of our home galaxy, drops them alongside a parachute descending through Jupiter’s atmosphere to find evidence of what happened even earlier in cosmic history, and brings them all the way to the afterglow of the Big Bang while revealing the breakthroughs in astronomy that give us an increasingly detailed and precise picture of how the Universe formed and evolved. Come along on a great journey about what we already know - and about the mysteries that we have yet to solve - in “Dark Universe”.

夢幻極光

在阿拉斯加和冰島這些酷寒之地，大

自然在這裏上演着令人迷醉的表演。

幾乎每晚，總有神秘的光焰照亮着星

空—簾幕舞擺，流光竄動，最終猛然

迸發。

這種在高緯度地區天空中的自然光，

稱為極光。極光來自太陽的氣息—即

太陽風與地球大氣層的相互作用。一

些極光看似輕柔散漫，一些則輪廓分

明。地球的極光色彩斑斕，是因為空

氣由不同氣體混合所致。

天象節目《夢幻極光》利用縮時攝影

捕捉極光的千姿百態，再重現在球幕

之上。電腦動畫清楚展示極光產生的

機制；再配合冰川航拍片段、壯麗的

極地影像和優美的新世紀音樂，讓觀

眾暫時忘卻繁囂，融入天地之間，享

受球幕下獨有的極光體驗。

KAGAYA's Aurora

In the bitter cold of places like Alaska and Iceland, nature puts on a fascinating show. Mystic flames illuminate the starry sky nearly every night. Curtain waves, light swirls, and then breaks up.

This natural light display in the skies of the high latitude regions is known as the aurora. The aurora is caused by the Sun’s breath, also known as the solar wind, interacting with the Earth’s atmosphere. Some auroras appear soft and diffuse, while others are more sharply defined. The rich colours of the Earth’s auroras are due to the fact that the air is a mixture of gases.

In the Sky Show “KAGAYA’s Aurora”, different auroras captured by time-lapse photography are recreated under the dome. The mechanism of the formation of an aurora is also vividly illustrated by using computer graphics. With aerial shots of glaciers, grand images of the Arctic and melodious New Age Music, audience can step out of their busy lives for a while, connect themselves to nature and experience the aurora in a unique, planetarium way.

全天域電影《原野非洲》讓觀眾置身

集大自然寬厚與嚴酷、可怕與瑰麗

Wild Africa

Water crafts Africa, the most dramatic continent on the Earth. Whether it is travelling above the plains on seasonal winds, cascading along raging rivers, or sheltering coral cities, water conjures up life like magic.

Water will also be our guide through the distinct realms in Africa, to discover the fascinating secrets of this enchanted kingdom. Do you know that Mount Kenya, which is located near the equator, is topped with ice and snow? Why do hundreds of thousands of flamingos gather in Lake Bogoria and what is in the water that turns the birds pink? The elephant herd is led by the matriarch, one of the oldest female, on their search for hidden water.

In the OMNIMAX Show “Wild Africa”, audience will plunge into nature at its most generous and most harsh, most terrible and most beautiful. They will also encounter extraordinary animals which reveal amazing lessons about the Earth. Come and join us, the watery adventure is about to begin.

下一站—太空 3D未來建基於過去。自古以來，人類一

直夢想能夠翱翔天際，可是要到 1783年，孟戈菲兄弟製造的熱氣球，才令

人類在不受繫留的情況下飛上天空。

在前往太空的漫長旅途上，尤里 ‧ 加

加林成為了第一位圍繞地球飛行的人

類，而杭思朗則率先踏足月球。為了

讓人類能在太空中逗留更長時間，太

空站也相繼建成，例如和平號太空站

和國際太空站；而順埋成章的下一步

就是派人登陸火星。

在太空穿梭機退役後，不少讓人類更

便捷地前往太空的概念相繼出現。試

想想，只要登上核能熱力火箭，六個

月後便能到達火星。再想像一下，假

如有了太空升降機，前往太空港就會

像乘計程車到機場般容易。另外，有

些科學家構思出一個興建於小行星內

部的圓筒形太空殖民地，只要裝上推

進系統，殖民星便可作跨世代星際航

行。而美國太空總署的物理學家，更

認真地研究空間翹曲理論，希望終有

一日，人類能以超光速躍進太空。

帶領觀眾一窺未來，探討私人太空企

業和國家級太空計劃的新構思。未來，

正等待你來發現。

The future begins with the past . S ince t ime immemorial, man has been dreaming of flight. However, it was not until 1783 that the Montgolfier brothers’ hot air balloon lifted humans off the ground untethered for the first time.

Along the journey to space, Yuri Gagarin was the first human to orbit the Earth and Neil Armstrong was the first to walk on the Moon. Space stations, such as Mir and the International Space Station, were constructed to let humans stay in space for longer period of time. Putting people on the surface of Mars is the next logical step.

In the post-space shuttle era, many exciting ideas are being explored to let humans get into space easier and more efficient. Imagine one can travel to Mars in just six months in a nuclear thermal rocket. What if getting to the space port using a space elevator was as easy as hopping a cab to the airport? Some scientists envisioned a giant cylindrical space colony built within an asteroid. Outfitted with a propulsion system, the entire colony could be used for multigenerational interstellar travel. NASA physicists are even undertaking serious efforts to learn more about the theory of space warping, hoping someday we can leap into space at faster-than-light speed.

The 3D OMNIMAX Show “Space Next 3D” offers a glimpse into tomorrow, and the possibilities of what is to come by way of private space developments and national space programs. Come discover what is next.

紙板太空船的秘密 Secret of the Cardboard

Rocket

The audiences of the School Show “Secret of the Cardboard Rocket” will join two children and a talking astronomy book on a magical journey by travelling on a cardboard rocket throughout the Solar System.

During the tour, they will visit the Sun, the eight planets and Pluto; land on Venus, Mars and Pluto; fl y through the Great Red Spot on Jupiter; and view the Sun and other planets from vantage points.

觀眾將與兩位小朋友和一本會說話的

天文書，乘坐紙板太空船勇闖太陽系，

經歷一段奇幻之旅。

School Show “Dawn of the Space Age” re-lives the excitement of the early days of space exploration and chronicles the major milestones of the space age: from the historic launch of the first artificial satellite “Sputnik 1”, man’s heroic entry in space, the thrilling fi rst spacewalk, the magnifi cent lunar landings, to the recent privately operated space fl ights.

學校節目《重返月球》重點介紹探索

月球的歷程，並從局內人的角度講

述來自不同國家的團隊競爭谷歌月

球 X 大獎 (Google Lunar XPRIZE) 的

故事。每個團隊必須成功將機械著

陸器降落在月球上，於月球表面行

走 500 米，並發送影片，相片和數據

返回地球。這個全球競賽的目的是激

發人們的想像力，讓太空探索不只限

於國家政府，而是各地民眾也可參與

其中。

影片帶領觀眾踏上一次成功發射，在

月球表面降落和遊走，並最後以出色

的畫面展現未來月球殖民的構想。

學校節目《地球、月球與太陽》藉着

一個改編自美洲土著口述傳統的有趣

角色－土狼，探索地球、月球與太陽

之間的關係。土狼對我們所居住的地

球及其最為人所熟悉的近鄰存有許多

誤解。

日落，認識核聚變和太陽光的基本原

Back to the Moon for Good

Earth, Moon and Sun

School Show “Back to the Moon for Good” highlights the history of lunar exploration and provides an insider’s look at the teams vying for the Google Lunar XPRIZE. Each participating team must land a robotic device on the Moon, navigate 500 meters over the lunar surface, and send video, images and data back to Earth. This global competition is designed to spark imagination and inspire a renewed commitment to space exploration, not by governments or countries – but by the citizens of the world.

The audience is taken on a successful launch, landing and tour of the lunar surface. The show ends with an enticing visualisation of a future settlement on the moon.

School Show “Earth, Moon and Sun” explores the relationship between the Earth, Moon and Sun with the help of Coyote, an amusing character adapted from Native American oral traditions who has many misconceptions about our home planet and its most familiar neighbours.

During the show, the audiences will learn why the Sun rises and sets, and the basics of fusion and solar energy. They will examine the Moon’s orbit, craters, phases and eclipses. The show will also explore past and future space travel to our Moon.

國際博物館協會（ICOM）自 1977 年

起，把每年的 5 月 18 日定為「國際博

物館日」，以喚起公眾對博物館的關

注。康樂及文化事務署自 2001 年起響

應這項國際性活動，於每年的 5 月中

舉辦「香港國際博物館日」。

2017 年國際博物館日以博物館所發揮

的社會作用為題，努力造福社會，致

力於成為促進人類和諧共處的重要場

所，同時思考不同歷史的論述與建構

共同未來的關係。

「2017 香港國際博物館日」將於 5 月

13 及 14 日舉行，本地多間文博單位

將會免費開放，同時更會推出多項教

育及娛樂並重的精彩節目，歡迎大家

踴躍參與。

Museums and Contested

Histories: Saying the

Unspeakable in Museums

Back in 1977, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) designated 18 May as the annual International Museum Day (IMD) to raise public awareness of the role that museums play in society. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has responded to this important appeal since 2001 by organising IMD events in mid-May every year.

The theme of IMD 2017 focuses on the role of museums as hubs for enhancing relationships between peoples and benefi ting society. It also highlights how a contested history can also be a shared future.

This year, IMD in Hong Kong is scheduled for 13-14 May 2017. Over these two days, visitors will be admitted free to most of the local participating venues, where a wide range of educational and entertaining programmes will be held. Come and be inspired!

為配合「2017 香港國際博物館日」，香港太空館將於 5 月 13 及 14 日在館內舉辦兩項免

費活動供巿民參加。活動詳情如下：

天文觀測：太陽觀測Astronomical Observation: Solar Observation( 粵語講解 to be conducted in Cantonese )

太陽對地球的多個方面包括氣候、通訊及自然災禍等的影響不

可忽視，因此一直以來科學家都嘗試深入觀測太陽，但太陽的

強光和輻射會對觀測者的眼睛做成永久傷害，因此必須借助

特別的望遠鏡或投影器安全地進行觀測。香港太空館於每年

一度的國際博物館日，安排了經驗豐富的導師，利用置有濾

鏡的望遠鏡及太陽投影器，讓觀眾能一睹太陽的真面貌。

為激發香港年青一代對天文學和太空科學的興趣，加深

他們對中國航天事業及中國文化的認識，香港太空館

自 2009 年開始，負責統籌於每年暑假期間舉辦「少

年太空人體驗營」，挑選 30 名中學生在暑假期間到內

地參加航天員體驗課程。

過去八屆的「少年太空人體驗營」都獲得空前成功，社

會的反應非常好，同學們在體驗營學習了基本的太空科學

和航天科技知識、參觀重點航天設施如衞星發射中心、體驗

航天員的刻苦訓練，更重要的是能與航天專家及

知名航天員如楊利偉等交流會面，體會到航天員

們堅忍不拔、不屈不撓的精神。

新一屆的「少年太空人體驗營」招募活動即將展

開，同學們千萬不要錯過參與這次學習和體驗之旅

的黃金機會。

香港博物館節 2017

喜歡參觀博物館的觀眾每人都總有自

一個富創意的科學發明，在他們心裡

激起一些想法、一個漣漪，而就是在

心靈裡激起的這份微盪，吸引他們繼

續到博物館遊歷。第三屆香港博物館

節就以「漣」為主題，期望連結起本

地不同的博物館，以至觀眾，把這份

漣漪的影響力推送得更廣更遠。

今年，我們召集了本署轄下的博物館、

相關的文博辦事處、文化中心和藝術

空間，加上粵、澳和本地的合作夥伴

單位，以展覽、電影、講座、音樂會、

導賞及工作坊等多姿多采的內容，向

參加者的心湖投擲小石片，期望激起

的漣漪能不斷延展，帶來更多新思潮

Muse Fest HK 2017

Museum goers all have their own unique museum experience. It may come from the encounter of an artwork, a relic that could tell a story or an idea-igniting scientifi c invention, which is just like a pebble that has been casted into their mind and created beautiful ripples. Maybe it is that kind of resonant effects that attract them to keep coming back to the museums.

The Muse Fest HK, stepping into its 3rd year, thus set “Rippling” as the theme with an aim of linking different public museums and visitors together to keep the vibration extending wider and further. This year, we have gathered the museums, other related offices, heritage centres and art spaces under our management as well as other museum partners in Guangdong, Macao and Hong Kong to bring along a series of thought provoking programmes, including exhibitions, film screenings, talks, concerts, guided tours and workshops. We hope that the festival will create ripples of inspiration to our participants and one day they will be turned into unparalleled ideas and energies.

More programme details will be announced later via the website of the Hong Kong Public Museums.

22 2322 常設展覽 Permanent Exhibition

To conduct a major renovation and replace all the exhibits, the two permanent exhibition halls in Hong Kong Space Museum are closed. It will re-open with a brand new face to bring the fun of astronomy and space science to the visitors through attractive exhibits.

The new exhibition halls, which will be renamed as the “Hall of the Cosmos” and “Hall of Space Exploration”, will be renovated into a new immersive environment. Through interesting and interactive exhibits and advanced equipment, with various lighting and environment decorations, both halls will introduce astronomical knowledge such as the evolution of the universe, space exploration and the solar system.

With a total area of 1,600 square meters, about 100 sets of new exhibits will be installed in the two halls, of which about 70 percent are interactive exhibits, to simulate the novel experience of travelling through space and time. Visitors may stand on surfi ng boards to venture through different objects in space to understand the warping of space by gravity or they may enter an upside down virtual space station to experience the disorientation feeling in the weightlessness environment in space.

During the closure of the exhibition halls, temporary exhibitions will be organised in the museum foyer. Other outreach programmes, stargazing and astronomical observation activities will also continue to be held. We look forward to presenting an attractive brand new face to you after the exhibit renovation.

為全面更換展品及進行翻新工程，香

以全新面貌開放，透過精彩的展品，

讓觀眾領略天文及太空科學的樂趣。

新展廳將分別改名為「宇宙展覽廳」

和「太空探索展覽廳」，並將翻新成

一個嶄新的模擬環境，利用有趣的互

動展品和先進的儀器，配合燈光效果

和環境裝飾，介紹宇宙的演化、太空

探索和太陽系等天文知識。

在合共一千六百平方米的兩個展覽廳

內，將安裝約一百套新設計的展品，

當中約有七成屬互動展品，為觀眾帶

來模擬穿越時空的新體驗。觀眾可站

在滑浪板上，在太空各天體間穿梭，

了解重力對空間的扭曲；或可進入一

個上下顛倒的虛擬太空站，體驗在

太空中處於無重狀態下迷失方向的

感覺。

展廳關閉期間，太空館將於大堂舉辦

短期展覽，並會繼續舉辦其他外展教

育和觀星等活動。希望展廳更新後，

以更吸引的全新面貌再與大家見面。

這是歷史中首次有天文學家嘗試預測

新星的出現。宇宙中有不少稱為「雙

星」的系統，由兩顆恆星因萬有引力

而互相圍繞公轉所組成。若雙星系統

中的兩顆恆星十分接近，它們便有機

會合併，在短時間內釋出大量能源，

我們便能在夜空中看到一顆突然增亮

了的星體，稱之為「新星」。過去天

文學家觀測到不少新星，但卻從未能

預測在何時何地會有下一顆新星出

現。但近來有天文學家預測在天鵝座

一顆編號為 KIC 9832227 的雙星系統

中的兩顆恆星將會在 2021 至 2022 年

期間合併，屆時夜空中可能會出現一

顆肉眼可見的紅色新星。

天文學家預測在 2022 年會出現一顆明亮的新星

Astronomers have predicted that a bright nova would appear in 2022

This is the first time in history that astronomers have tried to predict the appearance of a nova. In the universe, there are a lot of star systems called binary stars which consist of two stars that orbit each other due to gravity. When the two stars in a binary star system are too close, they may merge together and a huge amount of energy will be released in a short period of time. Then we are able to see a suddenly brightened star in the night sky. It is called a nova. In the past, astronomers observed a lot of novae, but they were not able to predict where or when the next nova would appear. But recently, some astronomers have predicted that two stars in a binary system in the constellation of Cygnus named KIC 9832227 would merge together between 2021 and 2022. At that time, a red nova in the night sky may become visible to the naked eye.

的密接雙星，星等約為 12 等。雙星系

統中的兩顆恆星十分接近，以致其外

層互相接觸。而其公轉平面和我們的

視平面亦十分接近，因此這個系統會

出現掩食現象，導致該系統的亮度周

期性變化。天文學家藉著其亮度變化

得知該系統的公轉周期，並發現其公

轉周期正在減少，代表兩顆恆星愈來

愈接近。

類似的物理現象也曾於 2008 年在一顆

新星─天蠍座 V1309 上出現過。直至

2016 年年底，KIC 9832227 所呈現的

性質和天蠍座 V1309 爆發前的性質也

十分相似。若這兩顆星有相同的命運，

KIC 9832227 在爆發時的亮度可能會

下降 10 等，成為一顆 2 等的紅新星，

在光害不嚴重的地區可輕易見到。

由於這次是首次預測新星的出現，吸

引了眾多天文學家嘗試對這星體進行

觀測，也許有助增加我們對這一類星

體在爆發前後性質的認識。然而，有

些天文學家對這預測抱有懷疑。我們

不妨等到 2022 年，看看夜空中會否有

KIC 9832227 is a contact binary with a periodicity of about 11 hours and a star magnitude of about 12. The two stars in the binary system are so close that their outer layers touch each other. The orbital plane of the system is so close to the plane of our vision that an eclipse phenomenon occurs in this system, causing the brightness of the system to change periodically. By observing its variation in brightness, astronomers learned of its orbital period and found that it is now decreasing, meaning that the two stars are getting closer and closer.

Similar physical phenomenon was observed in a nova appeared in 2008 called V1309 Scorpii. Until the end of 2016, the properties of KIC 9832227 were similar to those of V1309 Scorpii before its explosion. If these two stars share the same fate, the brightness of KIC 9832227 may decrease by 10 magnitude during its explosion, and it will become a 2nd magnitude red nova which can be easily seen in an area without serious light pollution.

Since it is the first time to predict the appearance of a nova, a lot of astronomers are attracted to conduct observations of that star. It may help increase our knowledge of the properties of this kind of star before and after explosion. However, some astronomers queried the correctness of the prediction. Let’s wait until 2022 to see whether there will be a new star in the night sky.

Orion is one of the most con-spicuous and recognisable constellations in the winter night sky. Three stars almost aligned in the middle of it. They are called the “Orion’s Belt”, which divides Orion into the upper body and the lower body. A bright reddish star called “Betelgeuse” can be found on the upper body that represents the right

shoulder of Orion. A brighter white star called “Rigel” can be found on the lower body that represents the left leg of Orion. Its head, left shoulder and right leg are all represented by some bright stars. Hence, the entire constellation is extremely eye-catching. Below

Hong Kong is a highly urbanised society and its night sky is lit up by artificial light. However, under good weather conditions, we are still able to see some bright constellations in the night sky. In this issue, we are going to introduce four bright constellations that are observable in different seasons. These constellations are suitable for those who start to learn stargazing.

In autumn, it is not difficult to fi nd a pattern of a square called the “Great Square of Pegasus” in the night sky formed by four stars. This square represents the body of the constellation Pegasus. Together with some nearby stars that represent the head and the front legs, the shape of a winged horse is formed. The stars at the head and the

front legs of Pegasus are not very bright. It is diffi cult to see them under bad stargazing conditions. There is a globular cluster designated M15 in Pegasus. Since it is relatively bright, it is suitable for beginners to observe.

雖然受光害影響，但是整個天蠍座的輪廓仍然可見（圖中右下）。在天蠍座尾部位置附近有一處較明亮的區域，那正是銀河中心的所在，是不少天文攝影人士的重點拍攝目標之一。在網上可找到大量關於這區域的美麗圖片。The pattern of Scorpius can still be clearly seen (at the lower right corner of the image) despite the adverse effects of light pollution. There is a brighter region near the tail of Scorpius. It is where the centre of the Milky Way is located and is one of the important targets for many astrophotographers. A lot of beautiful photos about this region can be found on the internet.

Scorpius may be the most representative constellation in summer. It and its nearby constellation Sagittarius are the zodiac constellations that are closest to the south. Observers in the northern hemisphere can see an a l ignment o f s t a r s tha t resemble the English letter “J” above the southern horizon in summer. It is the shape o f Scorp ius f rom head to tail. At the heart of Scorpius, there is a bright

reddish star called “Antares”. At the tail, there is a pattern of a hook that looks like the tail of a Scorpion. Near the tail of Scorpius is the brightest part of the Milky Way. Therefore, summer is also an ideal season to observe the Milky Way.

一些有趣的連線更會令人聯想到其他

事物。獅子座也常常被視為一隻老鼠

Some constellation photographers like to mark line “patterns” of constellations on the photo. There are no hard and fast rules on marking the patterns. One can have different ways to mark a constellation. Sometimes, we can associate an interesting pattern with other things. The constellation Leo has always been regarded as a mouse or an iron.

There are not many bright constellations in the spring night sky. Leo may be one of the most recognisable constellations among them. Its most prominent feature is the sickle at its upper body that is comprised of six stars, including “Regulus”, the brightest star in Leo. Moreover, at its tail, there is a bright star called “Denebola”.

Together with another two stars “Spica” and “Arcturus” in the constellation Vigo and Boötes respectively, they form the asterism called the “Spring Triangle”.

現導致了天文學的大革命，將原以為是世界中心的地球變成為太陽系中的一顆普通行星。

今天，即使在維港兩岸璀璨的燈光之下，仍然可以透過天文望遠鏡，窺探月球和行星的真

面目，感受伽利略當年發現一幕震驚世界的景象時的心情。

香港太空館舉辦的「天文嘉年華」讓觀眾可於配備了先進星象投影系統的何鴻燊天象廳裡，

欣賞各有特色的四季星空。此外亦有專業導師將遠在天邊的八大行星帶到太空館內作介

紹，讓大家近距離欣賞行星表面的細節。甚至可以透過天文望遠鏡，親眼窺探月球、行星

及其他天體的廬山真貌。

活動包括「星空巡禮」、「魔幻行星」及「鏡中星空」三節，有興趣的人士可於活動時間內，

· Shows marked with * are in English narration through the main sound system while other shows are narrated in Cantonese.

· School shows are available to schools only.

All programmes are subject to change without prior notice

Museum and Exhibition Halls Opening

1. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above

• The Museum and Exhibition Halls will be closed. They will remain closed if the signal is lowered 2 hours or less before the normal closing time

2. Black Rainstorm Signal

• If the signal is issued while the Museum and Exhibition Halls are in service, the normal opening hours will remain unchanged

• If the signal is issued before the opening hours, they will be closed until the signal is cancelled. They will remain closed if the signal is cancelled 2 hours or less before the normal closing time

Shows of Stanley Ho Space Theatre


• Shows already in progress will continue. Shows not yet started will be cancelled. Shows will resume normal 3 hours after the signal is lowered. If the signal is lowered 3 hours or less before the normal closing time of the Museum, all shows will be cancelled


• If the signal is issued while the Museum is in service, all shows will be screened as scheduled

• If the signal is issued before the opening hours of the Museum, the shows will be cancelled. Shows will resume normal 3 hours after the signal is lowered. If the signal is lowered 3 hours or less before the normal closing time of the Museum, all shows will be cancelled

3. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 / Red Rainstorm Signal

• All shows will be screened as scheduled

Family Programmes and Fun Astronomy Classes

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above / Red Rainstorm Signal / Black Rainstorm Signal

• All Family Programmes and Fun Astronomy Classes will be cancelled

• If the above mentioned warning signal is lowered 3 hours or more before the programme commences, the programme will be proceeded as scheduled

Other Museum Activities (including Astronomical Observations, Astronomy Film Shows, Astronomy Courses, Lectures, etc)


• All activities will be cancelled

• If the warning signal is lowered 3 hours or more before the activity commences, the activity will be proceeded as scheduled


• Activities already in progress will continue

• Activities not yet started will be cancelled

• If the warning signal is lowered 3 hours or more before the activity commences, the activity will be proceeded as scheduled

3. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 / Red Rainstorm Signal
