Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The Scientific Society of Hellenic Medical Students (E.E.F.I.E.) has the great pleasure and honor to announce the official launch of its collaboration with the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The remarkable scientific work EEFIE in the immediate past, attracted the attention of the Greek Representatives (Greek Chapter) of the American College of Surgeons who promoted it at international scale, resulting in a proposal for collaboration whose target is to support at all levels all Greek Medical Students (members of EEFIE) who wish to pursue their career in the most reputable and recognized educational centers of the USA, in an institutionalized and organized way .

This workshop, which is the "first act" of this collaboration, represents an innovative concept which aims to provide guidance and information for ALL Medical Specialties, for the first time in Greece, and even by speakers who have been fully trained in the USA, thus transmitting their valuable experience to the medical student audience.

It is worth noting that this collaboration applies to all medical residencies (and not just the surgical ones), since the ACS is officially collaborating with all the respective colleges for Non -

Invasive and Laboratory Residencies (ex. American College of Cardiology), whereas at the same time EEFIE is embracing the collaboration with Hellenic American Medical Association as well as the Greek American Medical College, (expanding even more on non-invasive and internal medicine Residencies).

As is obvious ,this is a unique educational opportunity for Medical Students from all over Greece who wish to learn all necessary details about all Residencies (clinical practice, research subjects, career prospects) as well as details on how to chase their career in the USA, under the repute and organizing excellence that only EEFIE and the Greek Chapter of the American College of Surgeons can guarantee.

Finally, in the context of this event, there will also take place the Final Choice for the Annual Volunteer Program of EEFIE: Medical Landing 2014

(APOVASIS 2014),

with the expected participation of more than 500 Medical Students from all over Greece.

In addition, I would like to thank the Greek Chapter of the American-College of Surgeons and mainly my Professors, Prof. K.Konstantinidis

and Prof. D.Linos

for embracing this innovative idea and enabling this unprecedented collaboration for Greek Medical Students, with international dimensions.

We are looking forward to celebrating all together the beginning of a historic collaboration for Greek Medical Students with tremendous prospects for the future.

Dear Colleagues and Friends, It is our greatest pleasure to announce that the Board of Directors of the Greek Chapter of the Panhellenic Scientific Society of Hellenic Medical Students (EEFIE) (ACS), introduces our collaboration with the Hellenic Scientific Society of Medical Students our future colleagues and scientists of our country. We aim to stand by our students and assist them not only by preparing them according to each medical field yet also to contribute to their education by providing guidance by experts who have continued their expertise in the U.S.A. Furthermore, with the completion of the organization of the First Scientific Conference we shall refer to the following topics: 1) Awareness of Medical Specialties by scientists who have continued their education in the U.S.A (everyday clinical practice, research subjects, career prospects). 2) Further information on what a student needs prior to his Medicine residency in the U.S.A, with interactive presentations for every level of preparation, starting from the scratch. 3) Orientation for selecting medical field, with the appropriate test, which is designed by the Medical Faculty of the University of Virginia (individual tests with 15 minutes, duration). Undoubtedly, this is a unique educational opportunity for all Medical Students from all over Greece. Finally, we would like to congratulate the Scientific Society of Hellenic Medical Students (EEFIE), especially the President of the Panhellenic Board, Dimitris Ntentakis, for their outstanding scientific work and projects, which we have supported for many years and Intend to enhance through our collaboration with tremendous innovative prospects.
