[Casino Management] is a compulsory unit for Tourism Management Course with 3 hours of
lectures. 3 accredited academic credits will be given.
Unit DescriptionThis unit aims to ensure student to learn general theory of casino management by investigating
the characteristics of the casino industry and understanding legal, social and economic business
environment situations related to the industry. In addition, this unit aims to provide learning of
the status of domestic and international casino industry, environmental conditions, market
research and analysis, casino gaming facilities, and game rules in order to allow student to
understand the role of the casino industry in modern society. Student will also acquire overall
understanding and knowledge of the casino industry by learning casino marketing, casino
personnel management, accounting, and safety management. This unit allows students to
systematically understand casino management, emerging service industry by learning history and
development of the casino industry, as well as to be equipped with the basic knowledge needed
for casino management and business by learning the industry that creates high added value as a
part of the tourism industry.
Application of the UnitAs this unit covers casino in general for comprehensive understanding, students will be able to
understand the casino industry basically, and learn practices such as the table and machine game
theory and casino marketing with detailed introduction of the status of the casino industry in the
world. Students will also gain knowledge on the origin of casino game tools, history of casino,
game industry, the status of the casino industry and management, policy, economic analysis and
impact, marketing strategy, personnel management, casino accounting, and the safety
management. Students will be able to become pre-professionals of the casino industry through
understanding of the world casino policies and education system, economic and social impact of
the casino industry, and ways to minimize social side effects.
