Sundiata He united the people and created a strong trading empire.

And Musa Mali or Mansa Musa ruled the empire of Mali during it’s golden age…

He was known as “the Black

Moses” of Mali…

On his famous hajj in the 1320s, he gave away a lot of gold. This trip made Mali known all over the world.

3. Most of the people of Mali were farmers…

…and Timbuktu, a city in Mali…

…was the center of learning for Islam.

4. Mali also had a good interaction with traders..

…which helped it became rich from controlling the gold/salt trade.
