Photo Primary Session 1: Introduction to PhotoEdiror Students discover Microsoft Photo Editor Program environment, they recognize symbols that perform specific actions such as open, undo, zoom in, zoom out and Save. Teachers discuss the basic features on the Microsoft Photo Editor toolbar Session 2: Myself as Artwork Digital photos are taken to prepare for the photo editing activities. Once images have been downloaded the program Microsoft Photo Editor is used to add artistic effects such as Enhance Color, Lightening and Caricature. Session 3: Myself as a Toon Students begin discussing the secret to creating cartoon characters. They will learn some painting techniques. Using the program Microsoft Paint students will edit their digital image by pixel to create a loony-toony effect. Project Overview: In this project, students stretch the limits of their imagination to recreate the way they see themselves – as a beautiful watercolor portrait or as a funny cartoon character. Using various graphic applications Students retouch and rework their digital photograph into amazing pieces of artwork. Session 4: Myself in DisguiseStudents put themselves in disguise. They open Microsoft Word and insert their newly edited picture. Using clips in the Microsoft Clip Art Gallery, hair, glasses, noses, ears, and eyes are added over top of the photo creating a crazy disguise! Afterwards, students print the screen to copy the picture and then paste it into Microsoft Publisher. This image is then cropped and saved.
Session 5: The Many ME’sStudents create a card entitled the “Many Me’s”. The card is to contain their digital photos including the original, artwork, cartoon, and disguise pictures. Campers will be using the program Microsoft Publisher to create the Name Card.
Session 6: Your Name Card Comes to Life!Students will proofread and review Name Card to check content, and design by complete a check list. Then they will share their cards via printing or data show.
