Educational Technology
and Me
By Shara G. Pineda
OVERVIEW
I was raised in Cagayan de Oro City with only one parent. Because of financial instability, I experienced being transferred from one school to another. I was transferred thrice and finished my elementary years in a public school. During high school, I had a chance to enrol in Liceo De Cagayan University but only up to third year and end up graduating in a public school again. This experiences made me understand more the difference between public and private institutions in terms of educational technology.

methods• Widens perspective
PERSONAL ASSESSMENT IN TERMS OF TECHNOLOGY USE
Technology helps teachers as well as students in learning new things but it should not replace the role of teachers especially inside the classroom. Teachers should use strategies and methods to fit the various needs of learners which is not necessarily provided by the mere use of technology alone.
It is good to know that there are a lot of inventions to facilitate learning. However, we should not forget the traditional way of teaching that our parents grew with. Those days where hard-work and perseverance is practiced on a daily basis just to find the meaning of a word inside the library using a card catalog. May it be technology or traditional way, the important thing is the quality of students it produce.
