*Again, emphasis at this point is on the International committeeKey idea: As Chapters, they need to be familiar with the overall goals at the International level.*This slide covers the EEC definition statement and goals.

    *

*These 3 goals (7 focus areas) are the heart of the EEC. Participants should begin to internalize them!

*Urge members to visit the International website and investigate these resources. Here is another example of the kind of material that the EEC has been developing to meet its constitutional charge. Each edition of the SFA Newsette focuses on a different African country. *Another set of examples of the kinds of resources the EEC has been developing as part of its constitutional charge. THAT has now been adopted at the International level. The Dinner and a Movie idea is one in which Chapter members take a new teacher to dinner and then to a movie to treat her to a night out.*The International EEC has been very busybut one of the key challenges is how to assist state organizations and Chapters in understanding and accommodating EEC goals and activities.*You cant say this often enough!!!!

The challenge is how to assist state organizations and Chapters in understanding and accommodating EEC goals and activitiesin fulfilling the WORK of the EEC at state organization and Chapter levels!*Here is a quick overview of the kinds of options available to state organizations and Chapters:Legislative committees would still handle programs and activities that impact educational law and policy

World Fellowship/International Projects committees could also be in charge of Schools for Africa, DKG/UN relationship, and global awareness

PG&S could implement activities associated with increasing members personal and professional pride

Professional Affairs could promote Early-Career Educator support and involvement and educational excellence focusNew Names such asOld POW = Educational Excellence Committee (umbrella committee)Early Career Educator Support CommitteeSchools for Africa/Project CommitteeEducational Law and Policy CommitteeEtc.**SAME AS PREVIOUS SLIDE:Here is a quick overview of the kinds of options available to state organizations and Chapters:Legislative committees would still handle programs and activities that impact educational law and policy

*Another sample of how to approach EEC goals.

*This is an example of how a Chapter structured its rules to describe the function of an Educational Excellence Committee. In this case, the Chapter chose to have ONE committee named Educational Excellence.

*This slide provides a way to summarize and think about meeting the goals of the EEC through varied state organization/Chapter committees or approaches!

Take time for participant questions, suggestions, discussion. *Reemphasize the definition and the Goals of EEC.*
