Source: “Karelia” newspaper Publication date: September 30, 2010

“This year the Teachers Training Academy introduces a new study program “Leadership in education”. It is designed to train community school specialists. Community school teachers should naturally have their own civic position, be willing to work for the benefit of society, and be able to engage their students in socially meaningful activities. This study program is a result of the “Community schools in Russia” project implemented by the New Eurasia Foundation”.

Source: “Kuznetsky Rabochiy” Publication date: September 4, 2010

“When I think about the “Community university” project I see one important problem that requires immediate solution: universities need to change. This need is accounted for not only by the ministerial concepts of the higher education reform, but also by the global challenge in the form of the current economic recession that has questioned the very idea of university. The Novokuznetsk Branch of the Kemerovo State University is getting ready to open itself to the city. The seminars organized and conducted by the New Eurasia Foundation have provided us with a certain body of knowledge that we hope will enable us to do this successfully”.

IRINA RESCHIKOVA,Senior Instructor of the Novokuznetsk Branch of the Kemerovo State University:
