How you write a proposal makes a difference. Use clear, concise language, give details and examples, and make sure your grammar is perfect.

Grammar Tip: Check for subject-verb agreement, run-on sentences, usage errors, sentence fragments, and singular-plural agreement.

Language Tip: Avoid vague and ambiguous writing that can confuse a grant reader. Avoid $25.00 words when $5.00 ones will do.

Verb Tip: Use strong action verbs. These include: accomplish, achieve, conduct, demonstrate, expand, generate, launch, motivate, and streamline.

Description Tip: Say exactly what you mean. For example, don’t write “in view of” when you mean “because” or “in the event that” when you mean “if”.

You get the idea. Keep it simple and to the point. The evaluator will understand what you want to do and you will have a better chance of getting the grant.
