Key Skills• Time Management- I feel that its crucial

to balance the different parts of your life. I work as a checker at Albertsons, student teach 8th grade science at Newhart Middle School, take classes at CSUF, and like to find time to read and play videogames. Getting all of these to fit into my crazy schedule isn’t always easy but I try.

• Reading and Writing skills- This seams pretty obvious but the ability to read and write well are pretty crucial skills for success in many different fields, particularly during online classes when you cant rely on having an instructor orally narrating content.

• Comfort with Tech- I know sometimes we choose online classes because we have no other choice, but its key to be comfortable with tech, especially in this course which focuses on innovative technologies.

4.b Creativity and Innovation

I find that critical thinking and problem solving skills are lacking in a lot of curriculum. The educational system has revolved around teaching for the standardized tests and pushing fact banking. This has made it so many students are too reliant on being fed answers and cannot find solution for their own. In science we have a new set of standards (NGSS- New Generation Science Standards) which push hands on learning through exploration. I feel that this will be hard for the student to switch to, but will ultimately be for their benefit.
