Editorial Portfolio The following portfolio depicts the body of works that best encompasses my professional life and my aspirations as an author, writer and journalist. Some of the works are from my personal blogs: We Dream of Better Things and The Food Pornographers Guide. The vast majority of the pieces included in the Portfolio are from my work with The Oil & Gas Year. I worked as a sub-editor and then market editor and was instrumental in helping to make the platform a viable product through the production of content. My knowledge of the TOGYIN platform is expansive as I was involved in the development of the project in its early days. I have collected data, conducted analysis and involved myself in the design of copy for both the platform and for future publications. The breadth of my works can be seen below. The Oil Gas Year Editorial Portfolio: Gabon 2016, TOGYIN As a marked editor at the The Oil & Gas Year I was responsible for the entirety of the production process from interview to publication of Gabon’s hydrocarbons industry. Special attention was made in making the information as accessible as possible, employing the use of infographics to display detailed complicated information that was accompanied by opinions provided by industry professionals. The country’s oil industry is in the midst of change. A new hydrocarbons code, published in September 2014, has given the government significant power over the country’s resources and putting Gabonisation at the top of the agenda. With some 56% of GDP attributed to the sale of oil, the global drop in the price of oil has left the country hard hit. Diversification has been at the top of the country’s agenda as well as efforts to bolster the 2016 deepwater bidding rounds. The state-owned Gabon Oil Company (GOC) has been growing quickly and is beginning to establish itself as a major oil and gas business in the country. GOC, created in 2011 by presidential decree, is the first time Gabon has had a state-owned hydrocarbons company since 1987. GOC has fast been gaining the industry experience needed to compete with global oil companies. TOGYIN: TOGYIN in is a recently released business intelligence platform developed by The Oil & Gas Year. The platform aggregates the totality of TOGY’s information into a single space accompanied by graphs, maps and profiles on major projects across the global hydrocarbons industry. I was singularly responsible for developing the markets in Kuwait, Gabon and Abu Dhabi. Development included writing original copy, generating projects and continuously update the markets with new information and news stories. I currently serve as the market editor for China, one of the largest newly opened projects this year.
