Despite of best efforts of our Federation leaders under CBPRO, the Government/IBA has not heeded to our those demands for which talks were going on smoothly. It appears that due to some Court case, filed by some other Pensioners' Association of which the Court has given verdict against their writ. Our Federation had tried their level best for the followup ceaselessly and sincerly along with CBPRO, be it with IBA, Government, Administrative Forums or even through the repeated personal visits to different Hon'ble Ministers and Ministry officials. However, in view of the one reason or the other, including the latest demonetization exercise, our issues have failed to elict any attention despute the best efforts put in by CBPRO. Therefore, in consultation with all the constituants of the CBPRO, it is decided to finalize the following Demonstrative action program : 1. 15.02.2017 (Wednesday) - Deputation by Representatives of all the CBPRO Constituents to the Indian Bank's Association, Mumbai. 2. 15.03.2017 (Wednesday) - Massive Demonstration, Dharna and Hungar Strike at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi by all the CBPRO from 10.00 a.m. onwards. Comrades, the decision to go for the aforesaid Demonstrative action had to be taken, as all the following issues of the Pensioners and Retirees have gone unheeded and fallen pray to the so common policy of procrastination or the lip symthey, at all levels despite repeated knocks at every possible door by CBPRO. Revision in Family Pension in line with Government and RBI Pensioners. 3. Updation of Pension. 4. Medical Insurance Premium should be fully borne by the Banks as is done in the case of serving employees. P .S. While going to the printing press for publication of this issue, we have received message from the General Secretary of the Federation of SBI Pensioners that the talks of CBPRO conveners and other representatives has again taken place and we have been advised that the talks were fruitful and would further, the same would be held in the time to come. Although there is no such instructions have been received by us regarding change/ cancellation of our proposed Dharna on 15.03.2017 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, we do hope that if the talks remain taking places, the Dharna may be called off. We are waiting for the detailed development of the above meeting/waiting for the circular of the Federation for clarification, if the Dharna is to take place, Comrades, be prepared to go to Delhi on 15.03.2017.

As you all know our three demands mentioned below,are still hanging on fire. Despite of best efforts of our

Federation leaders under CBPRO, the Government/IBAhas not heeded to our those demands for which talkswere going on smoothly. It appears that due to someCourt case, filed by some other Pensioners' Association

of which the Court has given verdict against their writ.Our Federation had tried their level best for the followupceaselessly and sincerly along with CBPRO, be it withIBA, Government, Administrative Forums or even

through the repeated personal visits to different Hon'bleMinisters and Ministry officials. However, in view of theone reason or the other, including the latestdemonetization exercise, our issues have failed to elict

News from Units ....

CHANDIGARH UNIT

i) Sh. J.R. Harjai, aged 90 years, our Senior

most pensioner at Tricity was honoured by our

Worthy Chief General Manager on 26th January,

2017. S/Sh. T.R. Gupta, General Secretary, A.C.

Rambani, President and S.K. Sharma, Treasurer

of our Association were present at the function

held at the premies of L.H.O. alongwith our other

few members also. The National Flag was hoisted

by the Chief General Manager. Some patriotic

songs along with national anthem were sung

thereat followed by light refreshments. Few of the

photographs taken thereat the function :

ii) New year day and Lohri were also

celebrated with the distribution of sweets by the

Association.

iii) In the month of January and February,

2017, few talks were held at our weekly meetings

at L.H.O. by eminent doctors of the various

leading Hospitals of the Tricity in which our

members benefitted with the talks/guidance of the

above doctors. On 8.2.2016 a Seminar on

Cardiology and its related diseases was hosted

by the Max Hospital, Mohali over high tea at

Amara Hotel, Sector 43, Chandigarh, which was

addressed by Dr. Sudhir Saxena of the Max

Hospital. Our President, Sh. A.C. Rambani

welcomed the Guest Doctor and Sh. T.R. Gupta,

our General Secretary thanked the Max Hospital

staff for arranging such seminar. Nearly 120

members of our Association attended the Seminar

and it was appreciated by one and all.

*****PANCHKULA UNIT

One of our respected pensioner from Panchkula has donated Rs.5000/- (Rs. Five thousands only)

towards the all pensioners of the circle that whosoever enroll minimum 3 new pensioners before 31.12.2015.

He or She would be awarded Rs.300/- each for one member/pensioner. So I request all the members

to make their contribution towards making the new members as advised above. The award would be

paid in Cash. Our above mentioned member has requested that his name may not be highlighted. Our

thanks to such a noble personality of our Association.

JIND UNIT

A meeting of the Jind unit was held on 25.01.2017

at Hotel Sagar, Jind. The below mentioned office-

SIRSA UNIT

We have been advised by Sh. C.M. Kataria, Zonal

Secretary that get-together was held on

29.01.2017 and confirmed the minutes of the

previous meeting. Further the house thanked the

chair for making arrangements to hold the

awareness campaign, which was held thereat for

banks/TPAs scheme for Medical. As reported, Mr.

Vikrant from TPAs (Anand Rathi) delivered the

requisite topic as mentioned above on 13.01.2017

in the office of the Unit.

The meeting ended with thanks to the Chair once

again over Tea/Snacks.

JAMMU UNIT

It has been informed by our Jammu Unit and Zonal

Secretary Sh. V.K. Mahajan of our J&K Module

that State Bank of India organised Nutrition Diet

Awareness Programme on 15.12.2016 in

coordination with Vichar Kranti Manch in

Administrative office of State Bank of India,

Jammu.

1. Dr. Rishad Bano, M.Sc. (DFSM) DHNE, CN,

CNCC wing Co-ordinator gave the balanced diet

plan for Senior Citizens. She advised the elders to

take balanced diet such as Cereals, pulses, milk,

green leaf vegetables, fruits, sugar and fats/oil

visible quantity. General tips for senior citizens were

also narrated such as to take variety of foods, eat

many different calories & types of vegetables, salad

or raw fruit, choose whole graining high fiber breads,

rice & cereals, to take simple but nutritious diet,

take small frequent meals, avoid fried foods, to

take plenty of fluids, reduce total fats and refined,

reduce salt intake, avoid fasting, maintain good

social & psychological environment for normal

health, do regular exercise like brisk walking (if

can afford or go for walk) and avoid inactivity,

loneliness & social isolation.

Besides this, Unit has also organised lunch

programme to Home for Mentally challenged

children on 16.12.2016 at Chhanni Rawa, Jammu.

ACHIEVEMENT

It is pleasure to inform that one of our pensioners

Sh. Ashok Khurana, Retd. Assistant General

Manager was adjudged as the "Rose King" in the

Rose Festival of 2017 of Chandigarh.

Sh. Ashok Khurana and his wife Smt. Sangeeta

Khurana were also declared as the Best Couple in

the competition of Rose King and Rose Queen for

the year 2017. This is the third time, they got this

award and hit the hatric. They were honoured in

the function on 19.02.2017 by Mayor and the

Commissioner of Chandigarh.

It is worth mentioning here that they have won

several prizes in the flowers arrangement and

potted plants in the past several years.

Heartiest congratulations to the Couple on behalf

of our Circle Association of SBI Pensioners' for

such a prestigious award. Dear Khurana Ji, we are

really proud of you and your family.
