MEETING OF THE FEDERATION AT MUMBAI

REGARDING POLICY-B OF MEDICAL FLOATER

SCHEME

Friends,

As consequence of UIIC submitting a proposal to

CC to increase the premia manifold on policy-B,

which is due for renewal in the month of January,

2018, it convened a meeting with the Federation's

office-bearers at Mumbai on 23.11.2017 at a very

short notice. After a detailed discussion for about

3 hours, a few proposals were shortlisted which

could be discussed with the UIIC to find a middle

way of getting the premia brought down to

acceptable levels so that the pensioners are not

unduly taxed. Proposals are as under :

1. Whether non domiciliary policy can be

introduced?

A case in point is the IBA policy where

premium under the non domiciliary plan

has not increased.

2. Whether the center wise caps on room

rents/ICU rents and disease wise caps can

be introduced in Policy-B also? Whether the

scheme of IBA policy can be replicated in

our policy or similar model can be desinged?

3. Whether grade-wise restriction on choice of

plans can be introduced? IBA Medical

Policy for a retirees are super-top up policy

with domiciliary cover and without domiciliary

cover wherein paying a little extra amount,

one can get a cover increasing the total

amount of policy cover which can meet

once requirements?

All these things are at a very nascent stage

and nothing has been finalised. This is being

advised to all of you because so that no one is

caught unaware. Further the issue of payment of

entire premium in respect of family pensioners by

the bank was discussed and the bank has agreed

to consider the same sympathetically without giving

any assurance in the matter.
