Adam Cook Media Mr Benzie Editing Updates Day 1 For the first day we managed to import the first three shots that will be used during the start of the film opening. The first two shots are establishing shots to present the scene and world to the audience. We needed to join them together and cut out an unnecessary footage for example during the first shot a boom microphone is shown which ruins the shot this would have ruined the Mise-en-scene therefore I trimmed the footage to make it look more professional. Following that we had to trim the second shot and join them to make the two shots fit perfectly and thus showing match on action and continuity. We decided to use straight cuts between the three shots to increase the footage tempo as the camera needs to keep up with the runner. The third shot is a pan shot of the runner who runs from left to right across the bridge this can be used to connote her running into the unknown. During each of the three shots we introduced titles one for each shot. For shot one it introduces the production company ‘Adam Teskey Productions, for shot two it introduces the director ‘Jade Paul’ and lastly within shot three it introduces one of the key cast members ‘Adam Cook’. Furthermore ambient sound is added and the blockbuster filter is used with a 26.8% strength. Day 2 For the second day of editing we managed to import 4 more clips within the timeline. The 1 st clip of the four consists of the runner jogging towards the camera. We imported titles into the first clip

Day 1

For the first day we managed to import the first three shots that will be used during the start of the film opening. Furthermore ambient sound is added and the blockbuster filter is used with a 26.8% strength.

Day 2

For the second day of editing we managed to import 4 more clips within the timeline. The 1 st clip of the four consists of the runner jogging towards the camera. We imported titles into the first clip and ‘Emily Taylor’ is faded in and out of the shot and is located in the bottom right corner. The filter blockbuster is added to each of the 4 clips with a strength of 26.8%. A few ambient sound is involved within the shots like the squelching of the feet. It is a straight cut from the clip into the next shot. The second shot is a panning shot from right to left, it has no ambient sound however it has a title that says ‘Adam Cook’ which is one of the key cast in the film. The next few clips have no titles within them and are edited which cuts. Within the fourth clip there is some ambient sound which allows the audience to feel as ease from the water running.

Day 3

For the third day of editing we managed to import 4 more clips into the timeline. The 1 st clip is of the jogger running across the bridge then having a breather as this happens the title of ‘Kieron Paul’ in placed on a piece of wood. The editing is fast paced so it connotes a build-up of tension this will engage the audience and get them ready for what is next. The 3rd clip is a long shot of the bridge which then zooms out and move downwards to see the dead body along the embankment. We had trouble with editing this part as we had to combine two clips into one and make sure the joining point was precise and done correctly.

Day 4

The last day we added the last 2 clips including the film name. After the dead body there is POV shot of the antagonist looking at the runner and following them after this clip there is one with the calling card floating across the river. During this there are straight cuts and non-diegetic sound over the top as we created our own music and placed this over the top of the film itself. We then added the film name of ‘Riverside’ and then made adjustments to certain areas for example we dimmed the colour of the grass in the second clip of the film opening as it was too bright we did this by using the ‘brightness and contrast’ feature. We also slowed down the panning shot of the 5 th clip when the jogger runs from right to left passed the trees.
