This Social Studies lesson is designed for 2nd grade students to learn about money, ways to save it and places that will help save it. This lesson uses to Houghton Mifflin textbook for Social Studies “Neighborhoods” pg. 180-183.

E10.2.2 identify reasons for saving money.

money.

Students need to have their journals.

Copy of predict outcomes sheets in case someone doesn’t have journal.

This is a 2nd grade lesson designed to teach students about earning money and using that money for trade or purchase of goods and services. This lesson uses Strategy 22 in the Integrating Language Arts and Sciences book on pg. 157 and the Houghton Mifflin Social Studies book “Neighborhoods” pg. 180-183.

This lesson is designed for a 2nd grade class to learn about trading money for items and services. This lesson uses previous concepts learned from the Houghton Mifflin textbook “Neighborhoods” pg. 180-183 with supplementary materials like money and small items to practice trade.

This social studies lesson is designed for a 2nd grade class to learn about businesses in their community, particularly banking. They will be using a Reader’s Theatre “Money and Banks” to act out what it is like working for and visiting a bank.

The social studies lesson is designed for a 2nd grade class learning about businesses in their community, specifically a bank. Students will take a field trip to Wells Fargo and tour the facility. This lesson is using Strategy 8 “Connection with Cultural Institutions” in the book Integrating Language Arts and Social Studies.
