The castle of Segura de la Sierra, the highest in the Natural Park, was used in medieval times to control a vast territory.

Today, your awestruck eyes can gaze the same landscape, shaped by centruries of fertile alliances, from the castle’s battlements: pine forests and olive trees that are waved together, tiny hamlets which dialogue with the massive mountains, and rivers that carried forests.

Through small roads, forest tracks and paths, you can penetrate in the forests of Río Madera, the best Corsican pine in Spain.

You can also climb to the top of spectacular mountain lookouts, such as Espino, Peñalta and Cambrón.

Or being astonished by a place like Los Anchos, a harmonious village lost among mountains which stores, in an unexpected museum, the most authentic memories of mountain life.

Trail to Peñalta.We will go by car from the town of Orcera to Benatae where a forest track that leads from the house to the summit Pilarillo Peñalta starts. It runs mostly by pine forest of black pine, beneath it grows a thick undergrowth of holm oaks, kermes oaks, junipers, rockrose and herbs like rosemary, thyme and lavender.At the summit, which is the crowning of a sharp Lastra, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic of Segura and the neighboring Cazorla and Las Villas, until sight is lost in the plains of La Mancha.The fox and the squirrel are abundant, and you may see wild goats at the summit. Among the raptors is included the peregrine falcon, short-toed eagles and vultures.Approximate length: from 3h.30min. A 4 h.Distance: 10.5 milesDifficulty: Medium.

Guided tour to the castle and the town of Segura de la Sierra.Segura mountains, named by the town, is crowned by a majestic castle themed on the Roman, Arab and Christian, with the Order of the Knights of Santiago. Segura, also recounts the life passages of the universal poet Jorge Manrique, natural of Segura. Paratrike and paragliding tandem flightThis is a tricycle vehicle, with elements of the ultralight aircraft industry (motor,

wheels, etc.). The passenger is in the front seat, the pilot gives an instruction through the intercom, and afterthe inflation of the wing and a surprising acceleration, the lift force us hanging sweetly in heaven. Recommended especially for people with mental problems or physically handicapped.The paragliding take off is on foot; a little breeze, determined steps and the Sierra de Segura will be placed at your feet.
