In a cooling tower system, condensing water is usually treated by chemicals. However chemicals are either underdosed or overdosed because their idual concentration or water quality is not monitored in real time. AquaKLEAR effectively solve the mineral scale problem by inducing an electric field into the water so that the crystallization process starts in the water instead of the heat exchanging surface. Moreover the electric field kills bacteria when they pass through it. The installation of AquaKLEAR does not disturb the normal operation of the system. It is maintenance free and consumes no more than 65W. There are over three hundred installations in Hong Kong and the biggest unit applied to a central chiller plant with 800mm condensing water header pipe. For centrifugal chillers, lubrication oil leaks to the refrigerant. According to a study supported by ASHRAE, a 3% of oil contamination in refrigerant causes 8% loss of energy efficiency of a chiller. OAM Purger purifies refrigerant of a chiller so as to restore the energy efficiency. Acid and moisture are also removed if there is any. There is no modification to the chiller and only three connections from the OAM Purger to the chiller via existing valves are required.
