Founded in 1887, ECCC is New Jersey’s oldest countryclub. But don’t be fooled, you are only as old as youfeel. Our membership is vibrant, diverse and shares apassion to live for the moment while creating a lifetimeof friendships and memories.

“The Essex County Country Club is one of the most boldlyenvisioned golf courses ever designed by Seth Raynor and hisassociate Charles Banks. Crafted on an excellent propertywith great topography, the scale and execution of theRaynor template holes is perfectly suited for the terrain atECCC. Our restoration of the course, with our dear departedfriend George Bahto, was a great lesson in how to bring backthe variety and character that goes with each and everyRaynor course. The course provides a great examination inskill and design but at its core it remains a fun and engagingclassic golf course. At Essex County we have been honored tohave a long standing relationship with the club, and theircommitment to maintaining the vision that Raynor had forthis sweeping property is great for the landscape of golf."

Our golf course is certainly one of the finest in the stateand many, including PGA professionals, consider it tobe second to none. The layout is challenging yet fair toplayers of all levels, and never gets tired for those whoplay frequently.

Course conditions are pristine with fast greens, well-groomed fairways and roughs and a design that isboth classic and scenic.

Our respected professional staff offers programs forcompetitive and social players alike, not to mention thatjuniors and beginners can learn the game in preparationfor a lifetime of enjoyment that is part and parcel of thegolf experience.

Tennis at ECCC is a home run too. Whether youare a singles or doubles player, competitive or justlooking to hit with friends, our tennis programs focuson technical, practical and physical aspects of thegame always keeping the FUNdamentals in mind.Our junior players learn to be not just winners onthe court, but champions in life.
