sEC-Council has developed a certifi cation program that combines relevant education with an examination assuring professional

competency.

Education is one of the key areas for E-Commerce consultants. Due to the Internet’s rapid evolution into electronic commerce and full-featured information delivery system, professionals are having to learn a whole new range of skills. EC-Council will provide for its member’s professional education through its strategic alliances with multiple academic and Internet training institutions, offering

discounts on world renowned training classes.

Our experts write reviews in Internet security, marketing, telecommunications, product, and legal information for those who are members of the association. This information is designed to provide the latest information on fi rewalls, encryption and similar security concerns, and techniques for successfully marketing web sites including: the latest on electronic commerce issues, Internet Law, intellectual property

rights, domain names, and copyright law.

Not everyone is in a position to avail themselves of professional training courses. Online training will be provided by both self-study tutorials on the Association Web Site and by a set of links to organizations that provide quality education materials. Those who desire the self-study approach will fi nd the necessary information here to improve skills and learn new techniques. In addition, our website will keep on top of the latest breaking news of interest to

e-commerce consultants.

The EC-Council will provide free technical support to its members in many critical areas pertaining to E-Commerce through its Technical Support Service. These areas include graphic design, page layout, marketing tips,

CGI, Java, and security information.

An Employment Information Section will provide member information on prospective positions of employment. Our corporate members will be able to use this service to offer employment opportunities to E-Commerce

professionals worldwide.

E-Commerce professionals are increasingly being called upon to develop more sophisticated web sites, and to produce them more quickly. In response to this demand a wide variety of new software-development tools have come on the market. EC-Council will provide its members with information of the latest developments in this area, including

comparative reviews.

Our conference will allow us to get together to learn the latest news regarding our interest in the E-Commerce profession. We will also have an opportunity to network with other members

from around the world.

The EC-Council is currently working with many internationally recognized corporations to offer discounts to our members. This includes reduced rates for our members on magazine subscriptions, telecommunications, insurance,

software, hardware, and much more.

How do you create the perfect e-Business

solution if you don’t even know where to begin?

The EC-Council certifi cation program is designed to address this problem. It has established universal set of standards on which human resource departments can rely. E-Business web-related work is gaining recognition as a distinct profession, and it is being compensated accordingly. A recent Computerworld survey found that the average compensation for a E-Commerce consultant is over $75,000. A similar 2001 survey by the American Electronics Association showed that e-Business consultants may earn signifi cantly more than their counterparts in other high-tech industries. E-Business professionals with project management skills are in the highest demand and are the most highly compensated.

The EC-Council certifi cation, is based on defi nitions of job functions and skill sets in the three key areas: technical, content management, and business management. These defi nitions have been developed by a broad coalition of industry and academic experts, and the skill set defi nitions have been adopted by the U.S. Department of Labor. In the technical area, skill sets include such topics as Customer Relationship Management, e-Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Process Re-engineering. Web business management includes principles of fi nance, legal issues, project management, and cyber marketing as they apply to E-Commerce web-related activities.

EC-Council, certifi cation is designed to provide the foundation needed by every Electronic Commerce Professional. EC-Council curriculum provides broad range of skills and knowledge

needed to build and manage an organization’s E-Commerce web site and to coordinate with other inside and outside resources to accomplish that organization’s electronic commerce goals.

EC-Council addresses skill sets and knowledge in the areas of:

les

This is a small sample of the various jobs available once you are certifi ed as an EC-COUNCIL e-Business Consultant. While some of the titles have been around for a while, new titles emerge daily. Many companies come up with their own unique job titles and there isn’t much standardization across the industry.

Since job titles and requirements change as frequently as the industry, it is recommended that you conduct your own research when trying to understand what a specifi c career path entails or fi nding employment opportunities closer home. The following list is by no means comprehensive, but it is a good starting point for fi nding a job that matches your skills and interests. The job titles, job duties, and average pay scale have been found from multiple resources including Monster.com, IT Career World Magazine, ITJobs.com, NationJob.com, JobFactory.com, and the Wall Street Journal.

Two years ago, it was nice to have MBAs who are grounded in the real world and interested in working with technology, today I prefer to hire some-one with a technology focus and e-Business skills. Their ability to provide value is higher. In an organization that expects you to walk in the door and start producing right away, they’re able to do that.

Computer hacking forensic investigation is the process of detecting hacking attacks and prop-erly extracting evidence to report the crime and conduct audits to prevent future attacks. Computer forensics is simply the applica-tion of computer investigation and analysis techniques in the interests of determining potential legal evidence. Evidence might be sought in a wide range of computer crime or misuse, including but not limited to theft of trade secrets, theft of or destruction of intel-lectual property, and fraud. CHFI investigators can draw on an array of methods for discover-ing data that resides in a computer system, or recovering deleted, encrypted, or damaged fi le information.

careful identifi cation of evidence in computer related crime and abuse cases. This may range from tracing the tracks of a hacker through a client’s systems, to tracing the originator of de-famatory emails, to recovering signs of fraud.

• Police and other law enforcement personnel • Defense and Military personnel • e-Business Security professionals • Systems administrators • Legal professionals • Banking, Insurance and other professionals• Government agencies• IT managers
