EASTGATE BlAST KILLS TWOAnother attack on Radovan Krejcir?

JohannesburgTwo people were killed and at least five others injured earlier on Tuesday

afternoon after a bomb went off in Bedfordview near Eastgate Shopping Mall.

"There is a confirmed explosion. As to what caused the explosion, it is unconfirmed for

now," said spokesman William Ntladi.

Metro police Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago confirmed that the explosion took place

on the corner of Bradford and Nicol in the parking lot of the Money Point gold and diamond

exchanges head officeowned by controversial Czech Businessman, Radovan Krejcir.

Krejcir is currently fighting his extradition to the Czech Republic where he is facing a prison

sentence.

Sapa was unable to reach Krecjir on his cellphone.

It is alleged that he [Krejcir] arrived at the premises and parked his vehicle, said police

spokesman Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini at the time. As he was leaving the parking spot, an

explosive device was detonated from the back of a vehicle, a VW Polo, parked opposite his

vehicle.

The VW Polo was stolen in Brixton, Johannesburg, during April.

Krejcir escaped unharmed as he did earlier this year during a bizarre attempt on his life in

which homemade shotguns which were being remotely controlled fired at him from behind

a number plate of a parked car outside the same shop.

Dlamini said that "On 3 July, unknown suspects broke into the premises through the roof,

cut open a safe, and stole jewellery worth approximately R3 million"

Krejcir described the experience as being like something out of a James Bond film: I

managed to get away and saved my life someone out there tried to kill me, Krejcir told

Sapa at the time.

The Czech national has been named a suspect in a number of high-profile murders, including

those of his associatesin the latest incident, Lebanese national Sam Issa - but has never

been charged.
