SPANISH HOLY WEEK
Holy Week in Spain is the commemoration of the Passion of
Jesus Christ celebrated by Catholic religious brotherhoods and
fraternities that perform penance processions on the streets of
almost every Spanish city and town during the last week of Lent, the week immediately before Easter.

It starts on Palm Sunday. Other important days are: Good Thursday, Good Friday and Resurrection Mass.
This year, the holy week starts on April 13th and finishes on April 19th
One of the most popular songs at Easter is "The Saeta"
BROTHERHOODS
In Spain, there are many brotherhoods, but in my village, there are:
Jesus Nazarene brotherhood.
The Angustias brotherhood.
The Dolores brotherhood.
Brotherhoods of Jesus Nazarene
It will organize a parade showing how the ”Padre Jesús de Nazareno” and the ”Virgen de la Esperanza” meet each other. The parade will take place in the main square of my village until the early morning hours.
Brotherhoods of the Angustias
On Good Thursday and Good Friday, fraternities walk around the village with their main images and religious music sounds everywhere.
Brotherhoods of the Dolores
During Holy Thursday, a parade will be held troughout the streets of the village by the ''Virgen de los Dolores'' brotherhood, known as ''Los negros''.
