CHORAL SERVICES

Services are normally sung by King’s College Choir on Sundays and fromTuesdays to Saturdays. Services on Mondays are sung by King’s Voices,the College’s mixed voice choir. Any exceptions are listed.

ORGAN RECITALS

Each Saturday during term time there is an organ recital at 6.30 p.m. until7.15 p.m. Admission is free, and there is a retiring collection. This termsees the continuation of the recital series which presents the entire organworks of Olivier Messiaen, the centenary of whose birth is celebratedthis year. There is an additional organ recital on Thursday 22 May at7.30 p.m. marking the completion of this series.

MUSIC

We look forward to a number of collaborations this term. On Thursday1 May (Ascension Day), the Choir joins the King’s Singers, who will begiving a fortieth anniversary concert in the Chapel. This will include twonew works, to be sung by the King’s Singers and the Choir together, whichhave been specially written for the occasion by Bob Chilcott (KC 1973),formerly a chorister and choral scholar at King’s, and also a formermember of the King’s Singers. On Sunday 11 May, the College’s residentquartet, the Dante Quartet, joins the choir for Mozart at the SungEucharist. On Sunday 8 June, the viol consort, Fretwork, joins the Choirat Evensong, which will feature the music of former King’s chorister,Orlando Gibbons. On Thursday 3 July, we welcome the Choir of StJohn’s College for Evensong which will honour Vaughan Williams, thefiftieth anniversary of whose death falls this year.
