The Problem

• Existing growth and pond control uses heavy amounts of chemicals, probiotics and artificial feed supplements with unclear origins.

• Widespread incidence of disease resulting in 23% decline in global cultivated shrimp production.

• Overuse of antibiotics results in proliferation of antibiotic resistant pathogens.

• Poor Bio-security contributing the problem.

• Lack of understanding from the farmers on proper use of chemicals and antibiotics.

• Large scale ecological damage caused from mangrove swamp destruction, toxic discharge from wastewater that can invade aquifers.

• Many countries now banning the import of these shrimp.

Current shrimp farming practicesresult in an unpredictable,

volatile industry that is not sustainable

The Solution

• Creating a water environment for growing that is organic, sustainable, pollution free, and has little or no impact on the surrounding environment.

• Through our partnership with Longhorn Organics, EA|GA RAS Technologies has enhanced existing technologies with a proprietary, state-of–the-art, life support system and feed program.

• Cleaner, greener, safer alternative to open-water farms and does not compete with other ocean or shoreline resources.

• Combining the best practices of RAS technology with knowledgeable shrimp farming.

• Operates under strict biosecurity protocols enforced on total compound for a disease and antibiotic free harvest.

• No chemicals or growth hormones used.

• Zero effluent discharge.

• Sustainable, pollution free, environmentally friendly, shrimp production facility that can be sized to fit the market producing over 16 kg of shrimp per m3 water.

EA|GA RAS Technologies is a life support system for shrimp

The Technology

Dual Filtration Process for Life Support

• Dedicated fluidized bed bioreactors dedicated to each grow out tank for aerobic nitrification, aeration and solids removal.

• Secondary filtration removes fine and dissolved solids, organic compounds, disinfects and sterilizes the water to remove pathogens, dissolved organic matter and heavy metals.

Feed and Water Management Programs from Longhorn Organics

• Proven feeding regime that supports growth cycle from stocking to harvest.

• Strict management of the water system enhances existing ecosystem, nitrogen cycle and aids in the production of algae.

Life Support Processes

The Technology

• OxyGuard Commander central process control system handles water quality metering, monitoring and control functions of the life support systems.

• Water quality monitoring system displayed on PC with automatic monitoring of PH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, ammonia levels and salinity. When parameter's out of normal, the subject tank will display in a color code for instant recognition.

• Once operating parameters are exceeded, system notifies recipients through screen, smstext, e-mail or Mobile Device.

• Commander can automatically control precise water quality parameter functions, artificial lighting, automatic feeding systems and more.

• System monitor and control on Mobile Device using App from EA|GA RAS Technologies.

EA|GA Water Quality Monitoring and Process Control

• 7 Production Buildings• 10 Grow Out Tanks of 148.5m3 and one

Harvest tank per building.• Two independent bioreactors per grow out

tank.• Common shared secondary filtration system.• Independent aeration system per building

• 225 kva Power Generator

The Facility

• 500 mt per year production• Total water requirement of 10,395 m3

• Total land requirements are 28,500 m2

• Strict Biosecurity Measures In place• Three access controlled zones

• Administration/Processing Building• Administration• Feed Storage• Processing• Security and Monitoring

• Proprietary process combining high density life support functions with proven feeding regimes that supports growth cycle from stocking to harvest.

• Local water is tested, stripped of heavy metals and carbon filtered• Minerals/salts added.• Full seasoning of biofiltration units accomplished after 2-3 production

cycles.

• SPF shrimp (specific pathogen free) (P5-P9) are acclimated in drop-in nets for ~20 days.

• Juvenile shrimp put into grow out tanks.• Harvesting cycle 110-130 days (three times per year).• Average size (120 days) 40 count-head on (20~22g).• 1: 1.2 Feed conversion ratio. (industry standard 1: 1.8).

• Efficient, predictable, chemical and drug free organic shrimp harvest of 16.0 kg per m3 water.

The Process

The Product

• Product is fresh Whiteleg (Litopenaeus Vannamei ) Shrimp, 40 count (head on), free of all chemicals, antibiotics and growth hormones, 100% natural and organic.

• Exceeds standards set by certification agencies and others including Global Aquaculture Certification Council, US DEA import standards, EurepGAP.

• Recognized as a sustainable product by Marine Stewardship Council, World Wildlife Fund and others.
