Depending on which colour, padding, and base you choose, the Plastic Armchair can fulfil all kinds of needs and preferences. RAR is not available upholstered. The fully-upholstered organically-shaped seat shell offers even greater sitting comfort. The padded shell features piping in black or white. Dimensions All measurements are in mm and inches, established pursuant to EN 1335-1 Seat heights for versions with a padded seat or fully-upholstered are approx. 20 mm higher. Colours and materials Plastic Hopsak Charles & Ray Eames presented their designs for the Plastic Chair Group for the first time at the International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1950, the Plastic Side Chair and the Plastic Armchair were the very first industri- ally produced plastic chairs to hit the market. From the very start, the Eameses designed different bases for a range of applications and the Plastic Chair became an icon of furni- ture design. In addition to domestic living spaces, millions of them are used in offices, health care institutions, restaurants, lecture halls, airports and sports stadiums. Comfort The fully-upholstered organically-shaped seat shell offers even greater sitting comfort. The padded shell features piping in black or white. Variety The seat shell is available in 8 different colours and can be combined with either a padded or fully-upholstered seat in 13 different colours. There are several bases to choose from and a wide range of individual combination possibilities the Plastic Armchair with powder-coated base (in dark grey) is suitable for outdoor use.
