Below you can see which fields the PSTN number ranges

database contains as well as each fields characteristics. It is

recommended to use a database program (Microsoft Access,

OpenOffice Base, SQL, etc.). Please note that Microsoft

Excel 97-2003 can only show the first 65.000 entries.

CNS Length: up to 15 digits

The CNS is the full international subscriber number, which allows you to determine the type of number you are dealing with. The CNS consists of up to four parts: Country code (CC), Additional digits (AD), National destination code (NDC) and Subscriber number (SN). NDC and SN together are also referred to as National significant number (NSN). The use of additional digits (AD) is very uncommon and constitutes a non-E.164 number.

    country_code Length: 1, 2 or 3 digits

This refers to the country code or global destination code as assigned by the International Telecommunications Union in Recommendation E.164 or as commonly used by the international community.

    national_significant_number Length: 0 to 14 digits

This refers to the number range within a country or global service. NSN stands for national significant number, which means that these numbers are the least numbers necessary to identify the number type (and registrar). The length of the NSN depends on the numbering plan, but may also depend on the length of the country code (CC). The total digit length of any number in international format (excluding trunk digits, additional digits and international access codes) may not exceed fifteen.

    ISO-3166-alpha-2 Length: 2 characters

This field refers to the country by using the two-letter abbreviation as defined by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) or International Numbering Plans.

Also see: destination field, which explains the meaning of the abbreviation.

    ISO-3166-alpha-3 Length: 3 characters

This field refers to the country by using the three-letter abbreviation as defined by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) or International Numbering Plans.

Also see: destination field, which explains the meaning of the abbreviation.

    utc_min Format: (-)x(,x)

This field reflects the minimum time difference between the country and Universal Coordinated Time (UTC). If the country covers only one time zone, the utc_min field will be the same as the utc_max field.

    utc_max Format: (-)x(,x)

This field reflects the maximum time difference between the country and Universal Coordinated Time (UTC). If the country covers only one time zone, the utc_min field will be the same as the utc_max field.

destination Length: up to 255 characters

This field refers to the short country name or destination description in the English language.

    type_id Length: 2 or 3 characters

This field refers to the three-letter identifier of the number type (FIX, MOB, PAG, etc.). These codes have been defined by International Numbering Plans as to allow clients to normalise the database internally.

Also see: description field, which explains the meaning of the 2/3 letter abbreviation.

description Length: up to 50 characters

This field refers to the number type description in the English language (mobile, pager, satellite, etc).

registrar Length: up to 255 characters

This field refers to the company that has registered the entire number range. All numbers within the number range belong to the same company. However, it must be noted that this field only contains the original registrars name, and may be incorrect for individual numbers in case of number portability.

    area_code_length Length: 0 or 1 digits

This field states the length of the national destination code (NDC). The national destination usually is the same as the area code or mobile range code. This information is not available for all destination types and countries. This value is always zero when the NDC always has to be dialled nationally, even within the same network.

    min_subscr_nr_length Length: 0, 1 or 2 digits

This field states the minimum length of the subscriber number (SN) within the specified number range. The subscriber number can be dialled within a country to connect to other users without dialling the area code. This is only true for countries with a so-called open numbering plan. This information is not available for all destination types and countries.

    max_subscr_nr_length Length: 0, 1 or 2 digits

This field states the minimum length of the subscriber number (SN) within the specified number range. The subscriber number can be dialled within a country to connect to other users without dialling the area code. This is only true for countries with a so-called open numbering plan. This information is not available for all destination types and countries.

    range_activation Format: yyyy-mm-dd

This field states the date of activation of the specific number range. The date is in International format: 2012-12-20 (numerical, separated by hyphens). This information is not available for all destination types and countries.

    range_deactivation Format: yyyy-mm-dd

This field states the date of deactivation of the specific number range. The date is in International format: 2012-12-20 (numerical, separated by hyphens). This information is not available for all destination types and countries.

range_status Length: up to 10 characters

This field states the status of the specific number range. Currently in use:

(empty) = range is currently active

This field states the Mobile Network Code (MNC) of the specific registrar (mobile network), which consists of two or three digits. This field is only available if the network is known to be a GSM or UMTS network, of if the MNC has come to our attention in any other way. This information is not available countries. This information is also not guaranteed to be error free.

    operation_company_number Length: 4 characters

This field states the Operation Company Number (OCN). It is a four-digit alphanumeric string to uniquely identify any registered company.
