Temporary Containers for Special Clean-Ups AvailableYucaipa Disposal offers a 3 cubic yard container for residential clean-ups and special projects. Containers are available for 21-day rentals and include delivery and removal. All unwanted materials can be placed directly into the container with the exception of hazardous waste, tires or large amounts of dirt, rock, concrete, or asphalt. Please call our Customer Service office to order one today!

Billing ReminderThe annual property tax bill will include residential barrel trash and recycling service charges. This eliminates the need for postage, writing checks and avoids late payments. Property owners who wish to opt-out of the next annual property tax bill cycle can pre-pay the 2020-2021 residential barrel trash and recycling service in advance. Additional pre-payment information will be available once the 2020-2021 service rates are final. For more information or if you have questions, contact Yucaipa Disposal’s Customer Service Team.

As of 2018, China, the largest market for the world’s recycling materials, enforced the new “National Sword” policy. This policy banned numerous materials including several types of plastics, unsorted mixed paper and set strict standards for contamination levels. This policy has impacted recycling operations across the U.S. such that stakeholders are now faced with the challenges of stockpiled recyclables with little to no value in commodities markets, improving and lowering the levels of contamination from recyclables, and learning that certain materials may no longer be recyclable. We need your support. In order to continue pursuing alternative markets and help contain costs, please help lower the levels of contamination by only placing acceptable materials in your recycling container.

Sorted recycle bales are shipped to recycling manufacturing companies and made into new products. At the sorting line at the Material Recovery Facility (MRF), workers must remove any contaminants— this is an essential but also time-consuming step that can slow down the process. If any contaminants are missed in the sorting process, the finished recycle bales could be rejected by recycling manufacturers and, therefore, not acceptable to be recycled. Keeping your containers free of trash and non-recyclable contaminants will help in reducing unavoidable future recycling cost increases. Spread the message, “Help keep your recycling clean!”

Electronic Waste (E-waste)Electronic waste may contain potentially toxic substances such as lead, copper, and other heavy metals. This is why they must be disposed of properly! Electronic waste, or e-waste, may include computers, monitors and televisions. Residents may place up to two e-waste items out with their bulky items for pickup. Please do not place e-waste in any of the barrels. Please Contact our Customer Service Department for more information.

On collection day, please place your containers in the street, at the curb, or near the corner of your driveway. The containers handles should be facing your home. Barrels should be placed 1 foot apart from each other. The containers need to be placed at least 3 feet away from any obstruction such as a fence, mailbox, or vehicle.

All barrels must be curbside by 6:00 a.m. on your service day.

Top 5 Items to Keep OUT of the Recycling Bin Here are the 5 top items that should never be placed in the recycling bin: 1. No Garden Hoses. Despite being made from rubber, vinyl or a combination of both,

this item still belongs in the trash.

2. No Diapers. Diapers should be placed in your trash bin.

3. No Hazardous Waste. This means no paint, motor oil, batteries, syringes, needles, etc. Hazardous wastes place our facility staff at risk. Do not place it into the trash bin either.

4. No Pet Food Bags. The wax coating prevents the bags from breaking down in the recycling process, so pet food bags go into the trash bin.

5. No Electronic Waste. These items are best recycled through a proper e-recycler.

Are you replacing an old sofa, water heater or refrigerator and don’t know what to do with it? We’ll take care of it.

Residents can request up to four curbside collections of large or bulky items during a 12 month period (pickup

second week of Feb/May/Aug/Nov). Limit of five items per collection. This program also includes electronic

waste. This program is at no additional cost and designed for your convenience. Please call our Customer Service

Department one week prior to your scheduled collection day to arrange pick-up.
