Task Support-Benefits

Greatly reduce the amount of syntax to remember and to type.

Use the vocabulary that page creators speak.

Leverage the already-existing translations for task names, removing the need to put these in properties files.

Eliminate the need for multiple flavors of a page for members of different roles by using existing security.

Items on pages automatically update when the underlying task is changed.

Provide a better UI experience by updating immediately without a round-trip.

Watch List

Page 6: E1 Pages Benefits

A Watch list is a list of exceptions or records returned from an automated query. Traditionally, end users manually “pull” these records using “Query By Example” within an EnterpriseOne inquiry application. Instead, a Watch list automatically runs a pre-defined query and “pushes” the list of exceptions or records to the end user. For simplicity, the watch list is summarized into a single value (usually a count or sum) so the end user can quickly see if anything needs to be done.

Similar to a workflow alert, a watch list enables management by exception and can be thought of as a modern-day inbox.

In essence, if a question can be answered with a single value, a watch list can be defined for it. For example, “do I have any backorders?”

The three watch lists below answer three basic questions from the same data source – sales orders.

Page 7: E1 Pages Benefits

From a navigation standpoint, a watch list is comprised of three components:

Watch list box/metric –Displays the count or sum from the watch list query.

Preview Grid – When the Watch list box is clicked, a preview of the exceptions or records is shown.
