Whisk 1 tub (120g) PnP hummus and 2-3 tbsp (30-45ml) each of plain

yoghurt and olive oil together. Season well. Toss hummus mixture through 1.5kg roasted baby potatoes. Serve

with scattered toasted pumpkin seeds or dukkah and fresh parsley. SERVES 4.

HOW TO CRACK IT For the perfect crackling, score pork rind in a criss‑cross pattern (take care not to cut through the meat). Rub salt into the cavities and set aside for an hour. Pat it dry and roast at 220 °C for 30 minutes. Reduce the heat to 180 °C and roast 25 minutes for every 500g, covering with foil if needed. Rest before carving.

Roll out 1 packet (400g) puff pastry to 3mm thick. Cut into 45 x 7cm strips. Brush 3 tbsp (45ml)

each of melted butter and cinnamon sugar onto the pastry. Core, quarter and thinly slice 3-4 Top Red or Royal Gala apples. Place the slices on one side of the

pastry, overlapping them with the skin-side hanging over the pastry. Fold over the pastry to cover the apple; roll

into a scroll. Repeat. Place it in a muffin pan. Bake at 190 °C for 30-35 minutes. Serve.

contribute to the South African economy sustainably.

Pick n Pay’s Enterprise and Supplier Development

scheme provides mentorship and access to the

market to more than 100 small suppliers.

Supporting small businesses

We seek to play a positive role in communities

as part of our contribution to the socio-economic

transformation of the country. Since 2013,

the Ackerman Pick n Pay Foundation has established

1 582 community gardens and 1 736 home gardens.

Last year, we raised R3,5 million for The Sunflower Fund

and R580 000 for the Reach for Recovery programme.

Pick n Pay is a recognised leader in advancing

sustainable seafood sourcing. We were the

first retailer in SA to commit to sustainable

seafood on our shelves and drive change

throughout our seafood supply chain.

Sustainable sourcing

The Pick n Pay School Club is the biggest

brand-funded education platform in South Africa,

reaching more than 5,7 million educators, learners,

parents and guardians.

In South Africa, accelerating opportunity and

empowerment is essential to the well-being of

the nation and reducing poverty and inequality.

In 2018, Pick n Pay invested more than R60 million

in employee training and delivered 31 595

training interventions; in addition, more than

5 000 employees completed customer-service

training.

Our people make the difference

By switching to 100% recycled and recyclable plastic

bags, 2 000 tonnes of plastic will be kept out of the

environment every year. Stores nationwide also stock

reusable bags made from recycled plastic bottles.

Our War on Waste programme helps us focus on energy

reductions, water conservation and reducing the

amount of food waste at our stores. PnP is FoodForward

SA’s largest retail partner, which has allowed us to

provide more than 40 million meals to people in need.
