    THE WLBC BULLETIN

We know the truth of Je-sus Christ will not carry mansslogan of As Seen On TV. Sohow will the lost know the truth, simply by you showing them theTruth. There is nothing special, there is nothing you need to car-ry, there is only the warm hand-shake saying I want to be yourfriend.

Come to the Prayer Breakfaston January 21st where ourfocus will be praying for thecommunity and our Local Out-reach to it

    As Seen On TV

I have always enjoyedcommercials for the main reason isthey have only 60 seconds or lessto state their case that you shouldbuy their product or service. Themore memorable the commercialis the more apt you are to buytheir product. Lately I have noticedthat more and more products instores are carrying As Seen OnTV. I pondered those words andthought what were they really say-ing.Here is what I came up with, AsSeen On TV says,

The product will work as statedThe product is innovativeThe product is cost effectiveThe product will solve your needsThe product is a must have

Philippians 4:8 says,Finally, brethren, whatsoeverthings are true, whatsoever thingsare honest, whatsoever things are

just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good re-port; if there be any virtue, and ifthere be any praise, think on thesethings. KJV

I then wonder why thethings of God dont carry As SeenOn TV. Does the Gospel of JesusChrist carry the slogan As SeenOn TV? Does the Bible carry theslogan As Seen On TV? Does Sal-vation carry he slogan As SeenOn TV? The answer is, well youknow the answer.

The one thing that can besaid about the Truth is once you

know it, it can never be takenaway. Once you know the truth itnever fades, it never rusts and it isalways pure. 1 Peter 3:15-16 saysBut sanctify the Lord God in yourhearts, and always be ready togive a defense to everyone whoasks you a reason for the hopethat is in you, with meekness andfear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you asevildoers, those who revile yourgood conduct in Christ may beashamed. Deacon of the Week: Glenn Miller 434.525.3552

    A Nutty Explanation

A young pastor tried to comfort a widow as they stood looking at her husbandsbody in a casket.

I know this is very hard for you, he said. But we Christians have hope. The body

is only a husk. It is only the shell. It is what we see. But the nut that was in theshell has already gone to heaven.

Many times we are asked, Who is mydeacon?

To help you, we will list the Deacon of

the Week and his list of families in the

    WLBC Bulletin ENewsletter. There will

be a complete list posted on the bulletin

board near the church office. This

complete list is alphabetical by your last

name. We hope this will help you know

who your deacon is for the year. If you

have any questions, please feel free to

    contact the church office.

In the book of Judges, a cycle is repeated many times:

The Israelites do what is evil in the sight of the

LORD, God hands them over to an enemy nation,

they cry out to the Lord and he appoints a judge, or

political/military leader, for them. Under the judges

leadership, the Israelites conquer their adversary and

prosper until they start doing what is evil in the

sight of the LORD all over again.

Who was not one of these judges?

    A. Deborah; B. Ehud; C. Esau; D. Shamgar
