Principal’s Message

The Indian Heights School

“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality”, said Warren G. Bennis.

Dreams are an integral part of creating a desired reality. They motivate us to strengthen

our passion and work earnestly to achieve our goals. I am a staunch believer that Students are

the ‘Powerhouse’ of these changing times. Their role has drastically changed from ‘Passive

Learners’ of yesteryears to the proactive ‘Directors’ in the ‘Teaching-Learning’ process. As

Educators, our prime responsibility is in moulding and guiding them towards a responsible

future by creative usage from the available technological arsenal. The kind of attention and

care these young minds need is definitely beyond the orthodox confines of the

classroom teaching. Students are the fulcrum of any educational institution. Their enthusiasm,

energy and joy always make learning a pleasure pursuit. We have tried to captured the ‘Fun

and Learning’ at TIHS through this e-Newsletter. The pages of our e-Newsletter will take

you through the vibrant & colourful activities undertaken by our budding learners.

The very first ‘Introduction to Learning’ for a Child is resorted to through ‘Colours’ and various ‘Shapes’ as they are predominantly visible,

discernable and easily graspable and not through ‘Letters’ and ‘Numbers’. The two noticeable, prevalent attributes of Colours and Shapes

encourage the young ones to define and organise the diversity around us. Every month a ‘Colour’ is introduced to the Kindergarten

Students. Yellow Colour was introduced to them on April 29, 2016, which is the colour of sunshine and happiness - as a part of celebration

of this Colour the Students and Teachers came dressed up in this Yellow colour. Later the Students coloured the ‘Cut Out’ of face of

‘Tweety’. In a similar way, on May 12, 2016 - Blue Colour was introduced to the Students with the Students and Teachers turning up,

clad in ‘Blue’ and had prepared a beautiful ‘Blue Card’.

It is always our endeavour to make learning more vibrant and colourful for our tiny tots. With this aim, each year, we take an

initiative, wherein, we provide an opportunity to the students to showcase their talent as well as we invite parents to be equal

partners in our initiative. Last year we had 'Flavours of India' and this year we are celebrating “Cultural Fiesta”- a series of ‘Class

Presentations’ for the students of Step I and Step II. As a first in this series is: “Heaven on Earth- My Family”- a class presentation by

students of Step II Angels and Step II Dewdrops, was held on April 30, 2016. These class presentations significantly help students

to express their talent and overcome stage fear, thus becoming confident and effective orators.

Children who establish healthy lifestyle patterns at a young age will carry them and their benefits taking them forward for the rest of theirlives. Introduction of Clubs in the Kindergarten is another initiative. Fun, Art & Craft Clubs and Nature Club provide ample opportunities to the young learners to hone their skills and learn together. Students enjoy club activities thoroughly.

Mother’s Day

Fancy Dress Co-curricular activities facilitate the development of variousdomains of mind and personality. An Intra-class ‘Fancy Dress Competition to celebrate 'Earth Day' was organized for students of Step-II. The theme of the competition was 'Save Our Earth'. Our tiny tots came dressed up in beautifulcostumes and expressed their love to their Mother Earth. It was a rich tribute in celebrating the 'Earth Day' with a difference.

.

To revere and pay our gratitude to persons who matter most

in our lives, Mother’s Day with the theme- ‘The Gen-Next

Mom’, a beautiful amalgamation of East & West’ was

celebrated with excitement and fervour on May 10, 2016 in

the school premises by our ‘Little Step’ students. The fun filled

TIHS Joins Hands with IPYG

The issue of war and peace has always been a focal issue in all periods of history. The concern of the humankind for peace

can be assessed by taking into account the fact that al l rel igions, rel igious scriptures and ceremonies are

committed only to prevail peace. We, at The Indian Heights School, believe that our young ambassadors are our future leaders

and it is the responsibility of the school to inculcate values of peace, harmony and brotherhood among our learners and foster

them to become peace advocates all around the world. With this aim the school joins hand with IPYG- ‘International Peace Youth

Group’ working towards bringing peace and harmony in the world. Recently most historic event has been conducted

by IPYG which is ‘Proclamation Ceremony on the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War’. Our school has also conducted

a week long event on ‘War and Peace’ starting May 10, 2016 with our Students very enthusiastically signing the ‘Off Line Petition’ with

a promise to promote peace and harmony in the world.
