In cooperation with the University of Pennsylvania and under the direction of CFS Science Department Chair, Dr. Robert Broadrup, 25 teams of up to 10 students each will participate. For more information, call (610) 363-5383. CFS's own Middle School will field one of the teams.  Wrestling Tournament The 27th CFS Wrestling Invitational is coming up this Saturday, Jan. 11 in Founder's Pavilion. 16 schools will be competing for individual and team championships. Dear Members of the CFS Community,  

Happy New Year!

CFS students will be performing a Piano and Voice Recital on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7:30pm in the Chapel of the Atonement. Admission is free and all are welcome. For further details contact Gary Gress at [email protected].

All School Weekend All School Weekend is Jan. 10 through Jan. 12. All boarding students are expected to remain on campus for the weekend. Students will participate in a fun-filled weekend of events in preparation for Spirit Week, which will take place Jan. 13

through Jan. 17.

Admissions Open House The Admission Office will host an Open House for prospective students and their families on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 20 from 9:30am - 12:30pm. This is a great opportunity to visit when many schools have a holiday,

but CFS is in session. Contact Brandon Zeigler at [email protected] or 610-363-5346.

Alumni Happenings The monthly Alumni Association Meeting is scheduled to meet on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7pm in the Griffin Board Room located on the third floor of Greystock Hall. Please contact Lori McDermott at [email protected] if you plan to attend. If you are unable to attend in person, please consider teleconferencing

Join host Alex Kirwin '02, alumni and members of the CFS community for an Alumni Gathering in NYC on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 6pm - 8pm at The Perfect Pint, 123 West 45th St between 6th and Broadway. RSVP's are requested by Jan. 27 to Lori McDermott at [email protected].

CFS Parent Association All parents are invited to attend the January Parent Association meeting on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 6:30pm. This month's guest speaker is Director of Admission Brandon Zeigler. All meetings are held in

Parent Volunteer Opportunity:The CFSPA is looking for parent/guardian volunteers to work the concession stand at the CFS gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 17 during the JV and Varsity home basketball games. The JV game begins at 6pm so volunteers are needed from 5:30pm - 7pm and/or 7pm - until the end of the varsity game. If you are able to lend a hand, please contact the CFSPA at [email protected] or call CFSPA Liaison Lori McDermott at 610.363.5338. Parent Annual Fund: The CFS Parent Association urges all parents to consider a gift to the Annual Fund. Every gift is deeply appreciated! Debbie Gibbons P'14 and Gertrude Go P'18, assisted by a wonderful team of Parent Class Representatives, co-chair the Parent Annual Fund this year. Expect a call from your Parent representative encouraging you to participate in the Annual Fund.

First Semester Exams First Semester Exams take place Wednesday, Jan. 22 through Friday, Jan. 24 at which time students can then enjoy a Long Winter Weekend. School resumes Tuesday, Jan. 28. Please note the second marking period comes to

an end on Jan. 17.  

Annual Fund The 2013-2014 CFS Annual Fund drive is still underway. Many thanks to those who have already given. We are looking for increased rates of participation among our parents, alumni, faculty/staff and friends. Income from tuition covers only a small portion of our annual operating expenses. Spring Alumni/Reunion Weekend is April 25-27, 2014. Please mark Saturday, Apr. 26 on your calendar for a day of sporting events, an Alumni Association meeting, traditional Memorial Service and the annual Alumni Dinner. Stay tuned for more details.
