    DISTRICT COLLECTOR OFFICES - REVENUE

    DEPT. - CIVIL SUPPLIES DEPT.

Conventionally the citizen has to go tocollector office or taluk/tasildhar office in person

to get the certificates like Community, Birth,

Income and Ration Card etc., which is a time

consuming process. It also increases the chances

of bribery as it involves direct dealings with theofficials. Instead some online registration facility

may be provided for getting certificates without

visiting the govt. offices in person. So that they

can visit the corresponding office only once at thetime of certificate provision.

    E-GOVERNANCE CASE STUDIES

I-Voting (Estonia)Estonia, indeed, has been the first country in the

world to introduce I-voting in which legitimate results were

obtained at the national level. This was during a local

government election in October 2005. In March 2007,

Internet balloting was once again used successfully in aparliamentary election, and the number of I-voters was

three times higher than was the case in 2005.
