Director, Ecommerce is responsible for leading the design, development, installation, and maintenance of Ecommerce solutions as it relates to advancing the Ecommerce technology across a multiple brand organization in a shared services model.  This role would be responsible for developing and establishing department standards and procedures; assigns, directs, and coordinates the work of the IT Ecommerce staff to include providing technical support and direction.  This leader is responsible for the management of metrics, ensuring adherence to quality development is followed, and providing top level support to the overall organization. This position is a thought leader in Agile development. This position is an effective communicator of technology solutions in a simple and effective manner to organization leaders and other business functions.  This leader is responsible for developing the Ecommerce technology roadmap and developing the strategic vision for the Ecommerce IT department.  As a departmental leader, this person will need to be able to translate organizational/departmental vision and strategies into an actionable plan for team members and partners.

 

Duties

Ensure optimal processes exist for software development and support activities with Ecommerce

Ensure metrics are in place to monitor and measure software development projects, ongoing support & maintenance activities and KPIs for outsourced functions and services

Responsible for development of career paths within the department, competency definition, and associated training.  In addition ensures that processes are in place to provide feedback to staff on performance

Create and maintain budget for the Ecommerce systems area.  Monitor performance against the budget

Develop highly effective business relationships to envision application solutions, rationalize business requests, formulate priorities, and translate these into executable programs/projects in a collaborative manner

Develops and manages strong Vendor partnerships; which include relationship building, operational oversight, contractual management, and strategic planning

Provides clear and concise communication of project and portfolio status to business partners and executive management

Co-ordinate with corporate IT cross functional support groups to test and implement changes into production

Proven ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and third party vendors
