Introduction to Excel Use Excel to create spreadsheets that can be adapted to track spending, create graphs and calculate loan payments. American Heart Association

Heartsaver CPR/AED Prompt Ambulance staff will instruct this American Heart Asso-ciation class. This program teaches the lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for the adult, child and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children. Also as part of this class, students will learn how to use the AED (automated external defibrillator). Sign up in advance for this 6 hour class.

DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE Our annual Daddy-Daughter Dance is coming soon! Watch for full details in our Winter/Spring “Leisuregram” which will be mailed

On July 5th, Dyer’s newest playground opened in Green Meadows Park. The park is located off the intersection of Green-wood Ave. and 215th Street. WALK-IN REGISTRATION Program Registration is accepted at the Dyer Town Hall, Parks & Recreation Dept. Office (One Town Square) just east of Hart Street on US 30. Registration hours: Monday-Friday 8 AM - Noon and 1 - 4 PM. Office will be closed Nov. 11, 25, 26, Dec. 23 & 24. Due to limited staff, it is necessary to close the office at various unforeseen dates and times during the year or when staff is conducting programs. Call (219) 865-2505 for more info! REGISTRATION POLICIES 1. Proof of Residency will be checked upon payment. 2. Programs will not be held if registration is insufficient. See “refunds”. 3. Non-Residents of the Town of Dyer may register for programs at a higher fee. 4. Phone registration will NOT be accepted. 5. If special accommodations are needed to make our programs accessible,

please contact the Dyer Parks & Recreation Office at (219) 865-2505. 6. Cash, checks and money orders are accepted for payment - except where noted. Returned NSF checks will result in a service fee. AFTER HOURS REGISTRATION You can drop off registration 24 hours/7 days a week at the Dyer Town Hall, after hours payment drop box, outside Town Hall. Here’s how: 1. Complete a blank registration form (available at www.townofdyer.com) or we can

mail one to you. 2. Make Check payable to: Dyer Parks & Recreation 3. Seal both check and registration form in an envelope and drop it in the after

hours payment box outside the town hall, located next to the US postal mailbox. We will receive your info. on the next working day.

*Registration deadlines are at 4 PM on the day listed. After hours registration will not be accepted after 4 PM on the last day listed for registration. *Not all programs and services are available through after hours registration. MIN/MAX stands for the minimum & maximum for each class. The min. enrolled needs to be achieved to have the class “go”. When the max. is achieved we’ll begin a waiting list for any future openings or for any possible added classes.

REFUNDS NO REFUNDS will be given after the first program meeting. Programs will be canceled if the minimum class numbers are not met (full refunds will be given when program is canceled). NO REFUNDS will be given for trips, tole painting or ceramics unless a replacement is found. All refunds are processed with a signed claim (issued once a month by the Dyer Park Board). No cash refunds are permitted. WAIVER & RELEASE FORM All participants MUST sign a waiver & release form to participate (Parent or legal guardian must sign for participants under 18 yrs. of age) in any program or event that requires registration. PARK RULES 1. No pets allowed. ($50 fine) 2. No motorized vehicles in park (includes snowmobiles, motorcycles, etc.) 3. No alcohol allowed. 4. No unauthorized hitting or playing golf. 5. No littering or dumping of household garbage or yard waste. 6. Fishing is not allowed at Pheasant Hills Lake. 7. All Town ordinances will be strictly enforced. PARK HOURS Dyer Parks are open from Dawn to Dusk. Except when authorized differently by the Dyer Park Board, park permit or park program. PHOTO POLICY On occasion, Town of Dyer staff may take photos or video of participants in programs & events or people in our parks. Please be aware that these may be used in future publications, in the Town web site or for local public access. We also welcome the local press to cover our activities and grant them permission for the same. RESIDENTS/NON-RESIDENTS Residents of the Town of Dyer are those whose taxes support the Town of Dyer. Unincorporated Dyer citizens are considered non-residents.

Antique Appraisal Show

Ever wonder what some of those old heirlooms may be worth? Here is your chance, Antiques Roadshow style. Staff from MIR Appraisal Services (Chicago) will be at the Dyer Town Hall to evaluate items such as paint-ings, vases, prints, jewelry, watches and everything in between. Bring out your items to be evaluated by accredited appraisers. Day: Saturday Date: October 23

Time: 10:00 AM - Noon Ages: adults Site: Dyer Town Hall (lower level) an elevator is available Fee: $10 per item to be evaluated payable at the door
