ILLUSTRATIONS NOUVELLE CRAFT PAGES

How to do it:1 Wrap the cardboard tube in white paper.

2 Decorate the rocket with coloured pens or pencils.

3 Draw a half circle on card with a 6cm radius, and cut out. Cover one side in foil using glue, then fold the card into a cone shape and secure using glue or tape. Then glue the shiny cone to the top of the rocket.

4 Now draw a half circle on card with a 7cm radius, and another half circle with a 5cm radius within it. Cover one side in foil using glue, then fold the card into a coned hoop shape and secure using glue or tape. Then glue to the bottom of the rocket.

5 Finally, draw a wing onto card and cut out. Fold the tab, and secure to the rocket using glue or tape. Repeat for all 4 wings, then your rocket is ready for takeoff!

Once you’ve created one rocket, why not build another space craft fit for extraterestrail travel.

How to do it:1 First of all paint the toilet roll in the colour you wish

the butterly to be. Once dry, decorate with facial features: googly eyes, nose and don’t forget to draw a mouth.

2 Next, twist a pipe cleaner around a pen to create the antennae, and secure to the top of the roll using glue or tape.

3 Fold and cut a small and large doily into pizza slice shapes. Use a small segment for the top half, and a large segment for the bottom half of the wing and secure to the back of the roll using glue or tape. Then repeat for the other wing, but be careful your butterfly doesn’t fly away!

Why not hang your butterflies from the ceiling to create a colourful environment in your home.

How to do it:1 First of all paint your ping ball or similar shaped

object yellow.

2 Then wrap black pipe cleaner around the ping pong ball, twisting at the ends to tighten, and secure using glue if necessary. Repeat this 3 times to create black and yellow stripes along the ball. The loose ends of the pipe cleaner can be shaped to create antennae and feet.

3 Tofinalisethebee, drawfacialfeaturesusingablack felt tip pen. Repeat steps 1 - 3 to create more busy bees.

4 To make a hive, cut a toilet roll in half and mark the centre of each half all the way around.

5 Then make insitions from one side to the centre line 6 times equal distance from each other.

6 Fold segments inwards and secure using glue or tape. Then manipulate the hoop by folding at each insition to create the hexagon shape.

7 Finally paint yellow, and repeat as many times as you would like depending on the size of your desired hive.

Why not give your busy bees a home by attaching your hive to a wall.
