    Typography:

    The font style is and boldwhich reflects the

    personality/image of the artist.A blind effect is used for the

    Branding:The CD and DVD are being advertised together to unite the brand, the style is consistent therefore it

    depicts unity and togetherness. They both have a uniformed colour scheme which also helps create asolid brand for Madonna.. This is essential when creating a brand for an artist for everything to flow. It

    gives the audience a certain mind set and anticipation of what to expect. If the brand is promoted well

    this will influence the audience as they will think the artist is better.

    Overall the adverts identifies the artist Amy

    winehouse well and her brand is

    represented to a wide audience. The colour

    help to reference her to those sort of

    graphics and colors e.g. the white for her

    name the dark blues and blacks. These also

    portray a type of mood relating to her songs

    and performance.

    Use of song lyrics form a

    song helps the audience

    recognise and wasn't to

    know more about what

    other songs and

    performances there will be

    in the DVD. It is a good way

    of grabbing the attentionand also showing the real

    artist.

    From the advert we can see who the artist is, her brand, her genre and performance. The advert

    isn't mistaken for CD etc and is clear to the audience that it is advertising a DVD of the artists

    live show. It shows the DVD on one full side of the advertisement, this helps the audience get a

    picture of what the DVD will look like, seeing the artist in action .e.g. having screenshots of the

    band, her in front of the mike and walking across the stage.. From the advert we can see that

    the artist is targeting a specific age range due to the parental advisory. The audience will mostly

    be aged between 16+.I feel her music would appeal to a wide audience as it has elements of

    types of genres meaning more chance of a bigger audience. The colours and font are olderlooking, dark colours. This is an indicated of the type of people it would appeal to as well as

    being for a more grown up audience .The are continuous throughout the advert and used both

    on DVD and CD. The artist music is represented as a performer, engaging, true and passionate. I

    feel this is reflecting through the picture on the DVD the titles of her songs e.g. back to black,

    rehab, love is a losing game. These songs all have a story around it and come through by the way

    she performs. This helps to establish the artist as they will expect the same attitude in themusic videos and live performances. They to feel her story as much as she done by the way she

    delivers her songs. I think this may cause negative stereotyping of her writing songs that are just

    about bad points in her life however this stereotypes can be broken by the way she

    sings/performs and through her music videos. The advert gives the audience the message that

    that what they invest in will be worth wile and be satisfied with what they have bought.

    Including documentary lets the audience into the successes and downfall of the artists .This

    helps to understand her as an artist and performer.

    Overall the adverts Cleary identifies the artist and his brand as

    well as when and where the DVD will be released and what to

    expect form the DVD .Having specific fonts and colours

    establishes the artists brand very well and lets the audience

    know exactly who the artist is.

    The coluors reflect a different time on

    life e.g. childhood, positive fun time

    and not at all representing any

    negatively included. This helps the

    audience in knowing what to expect

    form the artist and there DVD

    inclusion.

    The font is bold and stands out when you

    open the page, this helps increase the chance

    of people taking an interest and wanting to

    buy it.

    Evaluation of CD Advert

    From the advert we can clearly see that a DVD is being advertised. The advertisementshows the DVD in full view of the reader and has one page for the DVD being directlyshowed e.g. what it will look like and who the artist is. From the advert we can see thatthe artist is targeting all ages. This is from the use of colours on the DVD, animation ischildlike for young teenagers up to adults reminiscing about there childhood. The fontused to explain the DVD content is quite small so this will appeal more to adults. I

    know that this is the target audience as the colours, animation and font style isappealing to audience of all ages it has a friendly feel about it and I could see thisbeing a DVD that would appeal for a wider audience and the kind of songs that heproduces are feel good songs e.g. lollipop this particular video is fun, graphical andportrays aspects of his childhood days. The artist music is represented as uplifting,lively, happy and fun. This establishing the artist in the same way and the audiencethen expect the same attitude in the music videos and live performances. They want to

    be made to feel happy and great after listening to the songs. I think this may causenegative stereotyping of the artists as only being able to produce songs that fit underthe same genre however the stereotyping isn't always a bad thing and can make theartist more established then just expected to produce the same music. The advert givesthe audience the message that that what they invest in will be worth wile and will givethem a good experience of the artist and including extra features more performancesetc this makes them feel they are getting there moneys worth as well as getting a incite

    of the artists hard work for doing all the live shows.

    DVD evaluation

    From the DVD front cover the audience are told who the artist Is, the DVD idea and specifically

    what is going to be included in it e.g. the main title `number ones .The DVD is quite simplistic in

    the way that it has been constructed for audience use. It hasnt got different pull out section but

    constructed like a book. It has been chosen to be constructed to this as it reflects the DVD

    actually cover being plain and simple using limited colours one main pictures and a structured

    back. It has continued with the idea of keeping it simple and readable for the audience to work.This type of digipack would appeal more to the audience as they can gets a physical view of

    what the digipack will look like what will be included for it. This helps keep audience interested I

    the pack wanting to find more out about it e.g. websites for extra information , any extra

    features and song lyrics. I feel the DVD is targeting people of all ages however because of the

    era it was released in the music has appealed to an international audience however it may

    appeal more to people who lived through the time of Michael Jackson being around and being

    long term fans wanting got have all the number ones on one DVD package. This DVD packagehelps to establish the artist and promote a new DVD, including songs that will appeal and are

    known for being successful. The DVD gives the message that it will be a worth wile promotional

    to making it a success, it helps to establish links between the songs and music videos and gives

    the opportunities of featuring the videos in the DVD adding extra sequence and documentaries

    meaning the artists can show themselves through the making of backstage and in there music.

    gives the audience an opportunity

    picture is a close up of Alicia face and shoulders. The artist looks elegant and

    graceful in this pose which compliments the freedom theme. She is also

    wearing feathers which relate to bird and implements the theme further.
