Importt Rules

If a player deems his/her ball unplayable, he/she shall,

under pelt of one stroke:

1. Play the ball as near as possible at the spot from

which the original ball was last played.

2. Drop a ball within two club lengths of the spot wherethe ball lay, not nearer the hole.

3. Drop a ball behind the point where the ball lay,

keeping that point directly between the hole and the

spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to

how far behind that point the ball may be dropped.

Where a player is entitled to a free drop the ball maybe dropped within one club length from the nearest

point of relief. Breach of above rules may lead to

suspension.

Priorit o the Course

In the absence of special rules, two ball matches should

have precedence of and be entitled to pass any three or four

ball match.

A single player has no standing and should give way to a

match of any kind.

Any match playing a whole round is entitled to pass a

match playing a shorter round.

If a match fails to keep its place on the course and loses

more than one clear hole on the players in front, it should

allow the match following to pass.

In the case of a lost ball, the match following should be

called through without delay.

Mes Rules of Competitio 2011Regardng mens cmpettns held n Dunmre East

Glf Club the fllwng shuld be nted:

1. To be eligible for any prize, membership must bepaid to date.

2. To be eligible for Presidents Prize, a competitor musthave submitted three cards from previous 18 Holecompetitions held in the club in the previous twelve

months up to the 15th May 2011.

3. To be eligible for Captains Prize, a competitor musthave submitted three cards from previous 18 Holecompetitions held in the club during 2011.

4. It is the responsibility of each member to maintain hisown handicap. (See Rule 13 of the Standard Scratch

Score and Handicapping Scheme) i.e. to adjust hishandicap immediately and to inform the handicapSecretary accordingly.

5. There is a Club rule that competitors return their cardat the end of every 18 Hole Competition (a playerwho fails to return his card is ineligible for the next18 Hole competition)

6. Any changes made on the scorecard must be initialledby the marker.

7. To be eligible for selection to represent the club inGUI team competitions (i.e. Jimmy Bruen etc.) during2010, four cards from GUI recognised competitionsplayed in the previous twelve months up to 01/11/10are required to be returned to the club.

8. If a member puts his name on a timesheet for acompetition, it is expected that he will be present at

the allotted time. As a courtesy to fellow members,please give ample notice if you cannot attend. (Failureto attend may lead to disqualification from nextcompetition)

9. In a sponsored competition, a member who has won aprize must attend the prize giving to collect his prize.Please note that the onus is on the competitor to

check if he has won a prize the club should nothave to contact him. Under special circumstances hemay nominate a club member to collect his prize (nota committee member).

10. Before the competition, please check the notice boardin the clubhouse reception for any new information orlocal rules.

11. Please check in at clubhouse reception at least 15minutes before your tee time. Also always check intoclubhouse reception prior to commencing any roundof golf.

12. BEFORE PLAY(a) Competitors must enter names in book.(b) Entry fee must be paid.

13. Five day member is not eligible to win first prize inany singles club competition

14. To maintain your handicap a member must have

submitted three cards from 18 Hole competitions

held in the club during 2010.

Ldies Rules of Competitio 2011

1. The decision of the Committee in relation to anymatter arising in regard to the competition shall befinal.

2. 6 Players constitute a competition.

3. BEFORE PLAY Competitors must enter namesin book.

4. BEFORE PLAY Entry fee must be paid.

5. Cards must be completed correctly i.e. name, date,handicap, players signature, markers signatureetc.

6. As each member is responsible for her ownhandicap, please ensure correct handicap is oncard.

7. Only paid up members are entitled to win a prize.

An associate or student member paying a reducedfee is not entitled to win first prize in any majorcompetition.

8. Please use players name (not Partner) whencompleting time sheet. Please inform yourmarker(s) and opponents of any alteration orcancellation on time sheet.

9. Always go into Clubhouse before playing, as local

rules may change form day to day and these will beposted in Clubhouse.

10. Agreement to waive rules, incurs a penalty ofdisqualification of both players.

11. Your handicap is your responsibility. It is up to eachplayer to ensure that she plays off correct handicap.Penalty: Disqualification from competition.

Cleaning Ball:A ball may not be cleaned unless it is on the green. It can

then be marked and lifted. It cannot be cleaned at anyother time unless local rules permit cleaning & placing asin winter golf etc.

Always rake bunkers after you.Replace divots and repair pitch marks.

Slow Play: When going on the green, leave your caddy car

at the side of green nearest the next tee as this speeds upplay. Player who has the honour on the tee should drivebefore marking the card.

Eligibility for Major Prizes: To be eligible to win any ofthe 4 major prizes (closed competitions) i.e. Lady CaptainsPrize, Lady Presidents Prize, Captains Prize to the Ladiesor Presidents Prize to the Ladies, you must be a fullmember of the club for 12 calendar months and must have

submitted 3 cards from Ladies 18 hole competitions on thiscourse.

Five Day Members: Five Day members may play in anyof the weekend major competitions if they pay green feesand the entry fee for the competition, but they are noteligible to win any prize.

Golfer of the Year: There are 20 Golfer of the YearCompetitions. To be eligible to win you must play in a

minimum of 10 Golfer of the Year Competitions.

ILGU Silver & Bronze Medal Competitions: To be

eligible to win you must play in each of the monthly medal

competitions
