For many years billions of intra-oralfilms throughout the world have beenperfectly developed with the Periomat.The Periomat has always been reliable.Films processed have an archival lifeof more than ten years, thanks to theprocessors temperature-controlled chem-ical heating.

Of greatest importance to the Periomat’ssuccess story is also its advantageousapplication. Intra-oral pictures aredeveloped, fixed and dried at the turnof a hand. Without a darkroom andthe accompanying procedures – child’splay and reliable picture quality.

What distinguishes the Periomat is ofcourse obligatory for the Periomat Plus.But it can do very much more!

Only 5 minutes for up to eight fullyautomatically developed films – thenew Periomat Plus transport system

offers revolutionary benefits. Transferof the films between the wheels hasbeen speeded up and optimised filmcarriers allow the roller package ahigher transmission speed. This innova-tion saves two minutes of each develop-ment process. Two minutes whichshorten waiting times and add up frompatient to patient.

Despite the shorter development timesthe picture quality remains perfect:good contrast, high density, securearchival quality. This is guaranteed bythe new Dürr intra-chemistry which hasbeen specially adapted to today'sprocessor performance.

The Periomat Plus accepts up to eight films at the same time. In the daylight attachment they areremoved from the protective cover, the covers fall into a waste container and the films are placedin the film entry. A lever then sends them all together down the 8 way processing channel.

High-performance chemistry just likethe tried and tested Periomat chemistry.One preparation is enough for 350films or a standing time of 3 weeks.

A new idea on the Dürr Periomat Plusis the manual development flap. Endofilms used for checking between opera-tions and not for saving, can be cleanlydipped in the baths with tweezers. Asquick as a flash the dentist can checkhis work and save valuable time.

The new water drainage and refillingsystem also saves time and effort. At thetwice-weekly water changes the assistantsimply drains the water via a hose. Re-filling then takes place via the flap –exactly the right quantity without wast-ing a drop. This is ensured by thePeriomat Plus measuring bottle with afilling nozzle.

Moreover, other innovations have beenbuilt into the Periomat Plus. The on/offswitch flashes after switching on untilthe chemicals have reached the workingtemperature and are therefore ready foroperation. A new temperature sensoreases bath removal and therefore chem-ical changing. The film transport in thedrier has been integrated into the entiretransport system. And should a faultoccur, the safety switch protects otherpictures from incorrect exposure. A wholeseries of useful extras therefore guaranteethe Periomat Plus a important future rolein the practice.

The Dürr Periomat Plus is like a goodfriend. It does not get in the way andonly requires a small amount of space,no darkroom, no water connection. Itis always in its place, makes almosteverything uncomplicated and con-vinces with results which you can relyon. It is what is inside that makes it theassistant's friend throughout the world.

No maintenance problems

Apart from the twice-weekly waterchange, which is easily done with thenew water drainage and refilling system,a change of chemicals is only requiredafter three weeks or 350 films. To dothis the cover is simply removed as isthe transport system and the baths arefreely accessible. After disposal andcleaning the new developing andfixing preparation is easily dealt withas it is done directly in the baths.

Three to four times a year the transportsystem should be thoroughly cleaned.The Dürr Perioclean Set with a universaltank cleaner, bath and brush is the idealsolution for this.
