Program

The exhaust system for the S version of this legendary bike is led slightly differ-ently from other Monsters. Therefore we have developed an Akrapovic SLIP-ON STREET LEGAL system which instead of two mufflers has a single muffler on the right side, but with two inlets and two outlets. In addition to performance, the Akrapovic SLIP-ON STREET LEGAL system also offers aesthetic quality, with an excellent look on the naked lines of the S series. Both muffler outlets are equipped with noise dampers, so that it conforms to all noise regulations for street use.

PERFORMANCE

Measurements of the Akrapovic SLIP-ON STREET LEGAL system on the DUCA-TI MONSTER S4RS (without muffler inserts):

Power & Torque: the RS responds beautifully to the exhaust system upgrade, as can be clearly seen from the power and torque curves. The major performance increase can be felt already at low revs. Around 6000 rpm the Akrapovic curves follow the stock curves, while at the top of the range the Akrapovic exhaust system again delivers major increases in power and torque. At 10000 rpm we measured a healthy 129 HP. Max. increased power of 5.8 HP was measured at the same engine speed.

CONFIGURATION

The Akrapovic SLIP-ON system for the Ducati Monster S4RS is a special design adapted to the design of the stock header assembly. Two titanium cylindrical link pipes lead into a single muffler, which is mounted on the right side of the bike at seat height. The link pipes are independent and are attached to the stock header assem-bly and the muffler with sleeve joints, with the muffler joint secured by two springs, and the joint with the stock header assembly secured by metal clamps in addition to the springs. The link pipes have mounting points for attaching the stock heat shields (2), while an Akrapovic carbon fiber heat shield is available as an option. Due to the two link pipes, the muffler has twin inlets and twin outlets. Both outlets (outlet cap) are, like the muffler interior, made of titanium. The outer sleeve is available in titanium or carbon fiber. The system has noise dampers in both outlets, so that it conforms to regulations on exhaust system noise levels for street use.
