The word ‘panda’ derives from themeaning ‘bamboo eater’, hence why the twobamboo-loving animals are both calledpandas. Red pandas have a unique ruddycoat, they have large round heads, shortsnouts and big pointed ears. They havelong, bushy, ringed tails. They are about thesize of a large domestic cat.
