Norco College does not accommodate parent requests to contact instructors. 4. Course Content/Material: Norco College is an adult learning environment. As such, discussion topics and course materials are generally designed for adult students and may not be appropriate for younger students. Computers located at Norco College are not blocked from adult content, however, use of computers for viewing explicit material is not permied. 5. Norco College assumes no responsibility for the supervision of minor students outside of the classroom seng. Parents are responsible for providing transportaon to courses offed at Norco College and ensuring that their children are appropriately supervised before and aſter class. STUDENT AGREEMENT:

The following must be submitted each term you wish to attend:

1. Eligibility: JFK students currently enrolled in 9th through 12th grade with Parent/Guardian & Principal/Designee

approval. 2. Maximum Units: Norco College allows dual enrollment students to register in a maximum of 4 courses up to 15 college units

only during the fall and spring semesters in order to enrich their educational experience. 3. Restricted Courses: Students may enroll in most college level courses, provided they meet the necessary pre-requisites.

The following courses may not be taken by high school students: All Kinesiology (KIN) courses. Additional course restrictions may be included at the discretion of the college. 4. Pre-Requisite Requirements: When a course has a pre-requisite requirement, it means that a student must demonstrate

pre-existing knowledge and/or skills to be successful in the course by completing the required previous course(s). 5. Assessment: All students planning to enroll in English courses must qualify for a certain course by completing an assessment test at

Norco College. 6. Fees: Dual enrollment high school students are not required to pay any enrollment, student services, transportation or health fees. Additional materials and parking permits are to be paid by the student, if needed. Riverside Community College District requires a valid parking permit displayed at all times. To purchase a semester parking permit for Norco College, log-on to MyPORTAL once registered for courses. 7. Course Registration: It is your responsibility to log into MyPORTAL to register for all course(s) by the designated college deadlines. Please note, that submitting this approval form and application does not register you in the course. 8. Rules & Regulations: All Norco College Dual Enrollment students are responsible for complying with the rules and regula-

tions of the college as published in the Norco College Catalog and schedule of classes. 9. Grades: The grade(s) you earn in your Norco College course(s) will become part of your official college academic record . It is your responsibility to make sure your high school receives college transcripts that you may need in order to receive high school credit. You can request transcripts via your WebAdvisor account or in person with Admissions & Records. A valid ID will be required. 10. FERPA: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended (sometimes referred to as the Buckley Amen - ment), is federal law that protects the privacy of education records. Schools are required to maintain that privacy, primarily by restricting release of records and the access provided to those records. Norco College protects the privacy of all enrolled students. If students choose to allow an individual permission to access to their education records, they must do so by writing a letter stating their intent. The letter must be accompanied by appropriate identification from both parties and is

valid for a single request.

CLASS DESCRIPTION: GUI-47: Career Exploration and Life Planning: In depth career and life planning: topics include extensive explora-tion of one's values, interests and abilities; life problem-solving and self-management skills; self-assessment including identifying one's skills and matching personality with work. An intensive career investigation; decision making, goal setting and job search strategies, as well as resume writing and interviewing skills will also be addressed.

MUS-19: Music Appreciation: A broad survey of music in the Western world, including terminology for describing musical elements, forms, and styles. Organized to acquaint students with the roles of music and musicians in society and with representative musical selec-tions through listening.
